Star Trek Adventures Pre-Order is live

Don't poo-poo the Final Frontier, man! What do you think of it, Morrus? I assume that you've gotten the PDF, as well.

Star Trek Adventures: Now that the full rules are out, what do you think?

Good point. As I said, I think it'll take time through play, and relying on the players to work with and support each other in that system to see what I really think about it - and have a valid assessment, rather than just a reader's opinion. Your use of Kim and Bashir as examples made a lot of...

Star Trek Adventures: Now that the full rules are out, what do you think?

I decided to start a new thread, despite there being a few long(ish) ones, because all those already up were primarily, if not entirely, based on the playtest rules and materials and not the full, final release. I picked up the PDF the day it was released, and will certainly get the physical...

    Star Trek Adventures

5 out of 5 rating for Star Trek Adventures RPG PDF I purchased this game from DriveThruRPG on the day it was released there, read the rules over a few days, and then ran a one-off with some friends. Almost all of us had played the 2d20 system, for Conan, a handful of times, and I'd read the...

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

Thanks for sharing - those look great! I ran my first session of the game, last night, and it went really well. I used a short adventure found in the back of the STIII Sourcebook Update, from FASA (still have mine), wherein the Constitution-class USS Republic, lost for 15 years, is discovered...

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

Naah...."seasoned." And remember: youth and vigor are no match for old age and treachery.

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

First impressions, after having read just over 1/3 of the PDF over the last day: 1. It's a nice-looking book, in terms of layout, art (overall), and both the black and white page versions. There are some odd types - "it's" instead of "its" and one really bizarrely-worded non-sensical sentence...

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

Thanks. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the mental and creative exercise of translating things from one ruleset to the new one, or from non-game sources.

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

The issue of IP and what Modiphius can and cannot use is interesting. I grew up on syndicated TOS and the TOS movies; enjoyed TNG a great deal when it was originally on; and watched both DS9 and VOY when they were on, too. ENT sucked. TAS? Wonderfully awful in so many ways, like a great/bad...

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

Thank you. And I think a laugh is warranted over the abbreviation for the new series...."STD." Huh. Hope it's better than the other meaning.

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

I bought the PDF and am reading it. I'll post thoughts about it here as they come to me. Feel free to ask anything you'd like to know about it, too - contents, whatever. And as for this silly line over TOS vs. TNG vs. WTF...please. The book is almost 400 pages long and it's not complete...

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

Clever. Silly British Pounds and the exchange rate - they'd need to change the price almost daily to maintain that moving target.

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

...didn't wrestle that long: just got the PDF. Will certainly get the physical copy in a few months locally, but at least now I can start really learning the rules.

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

$15.51? Wow. That's a lot cheaper than I expected it to be. I read, from them, that they're giving the PDF with a purchase of the physical copy, even from FLGS in the future, via Bricks and Mortar, which is really cool - but dropping 2-3 craft beers worth of dough on a copy now is pretty...

    How big's the RPG market?

Interesting. Considering how sorry most Hollywood movies are, I bet that much of what folks are making up around tables with friends is of better quality. I'll take our little share along with a good story, thank you.

    Explore Philadelphia's Drinks And Dragons

Great idea. There's a small microbrewery in Tucson that opened recently, and they're now hosting game nights on Tuesdays. The place is open to anyone, but they give 10% off drink orders to people who show up to game. It's been a slow start, but I'm hopeful that it'll take off.
