    D&D 5E (2014) What's a Yugoloth?

Makes about as much sense as some of the party PC put together.

How the Monsters Have Changed in the 2025 Monster Manual: Aarakocra

Sure, but that doesn't mean we can't be disappointed in the direction the game is going.

D&D General Which edition did Turn Undead the best?

Turn undead, especially in older versions of D&D, can make a break the difficulty of an encounter. You have a cleric, easy peasy, you don't have a cleric total party kill. One of rhe many reasons I think all D&D works better without clerics.

D&D 5E (2024) Sunless Citadel Thoughs? Almost had a tpk.

I have TPKed in 5e. It was the 70 something ish adventure in that campaign. PC had a string of bad luck. Also I had two critical hits in a row from two Chasme Demons 22d6 is a brutal critical.....

How the Monsters Have Changed in the 2025 Monster Manual: Aarakocra

I don't like how everything is so magical. Every one of them has a magical thunder javelin that the player can't loot? Booooooo

None game use of RPG skills

I could ramble on about the math, reading comprehension, interpersonal skills, effective communication, adaptability, improve ect. But let's get to brass tact. the most valuable life lessons are from the adventures. Every 90s Shadowrun adventure: your employer didn't tell you all the...

    THAC0

This was the first module I owned. Used the heck out of it. Guess that's why I love THAC0 so much.

    D&D 5E (2024) Why No Monster Creation Rules in D&D 2024?

(Putting my big spoon in the pot and stiring it around while adding gasoline to the fire) Cause someone might use the monster rules to make orcs!!!

This sound like a great program. Hopefully it spurs some new designers.

    Underrated RPGs

I'm voting for Peril and Plunder. It's my D&D Heartbreaker writen when I realized 4e wasn't for me and wanted a old school game less complex than 3e but a little more robust than 1e/2e. It still uses levels, but I built it so players build their characters by choosing building blocks, called...

    Preparations for Super Bowl LIX?

The Fancy Special Nachos. Four kinds of cheese shredded from the block. Use the broiler on the oven for the perfect crisp. Just using this week to test which salsa I want to use.

    D&D 5E (2024) Fey Video Critique & Alternate Perspective

WOTC released a adventure called Dragon Heist without any actual heist yet marketed it to all of us like we were getting the Oceans 11 campaign. Stop putting any stock in there marketing department.

    Should Wizardry Require Player Intelligence?

The Sorcery game books by (UKs) Steve Jackson required players to memorize the three letter names of the spells. When you got to a part in the book where you could cast a spell it would give you a list of what page you would turn to cast which and hopefully you rembered what did what. Fun...

Dark Tower Gets The Deluxe Director’s Cut Treatment From Goodman Games

I think they all include expansion. The B1/B2 has additional Caves for the Caves of Chaos. I'm 90% sure the Isle of Dread adds some areas as well. Im pretty sure DCC lost the license to do more of the old TSR modules, but putting out to Jennels classics with this and the upcoming Thracia is...

D&D 5E (2024) Dungeons & Dragons 2025 Monster Manuals show up in the wild.

100% got all three books at the FLG as the price was just a few $ more. It's extra work, and I don't like the special covers, but I feel good about it so that's a perk.

Are Orcs in the Monster Manual? No and Yes.

I reskinded lots of statblocks as orcs in 5e so this really isn't that diffrent. I've also reskined lots of Stat blocks as goblins. I've turned the yeti stat block into an undead hagspawn wolf creature. A red dragon Stat block into a fire breathing guardian statue. And so many more. If your not...
