We didn't get a 3e Forgotten Realms setting till June 2001. So be patient, WotC doesn't have unlimited resources. It takes time. I'm sure once the three core are finished they will devote their resources to the realms.

That doesn't count labor and overhead, which could easily make. $5 book $15 or more, slimming those profit margins.

Wasn't there a Dragon article or personal anecdote where one of the 3e team had a setting where the nobility had flumphs tied to strings and took them out in public like balloons?
