Assuming there are any magical weapons to be found in the adventure at all. The rules do not assume that you find many permanent items due to the flatter math involved, and many magical items (especially ones with charges) are assumed to be kept in perpetuity.

I love the rule of casting spells with higher level spell slots. It really allows the wizard to shine without having meta magic feats. And puts limit on their power, along with the concentration...

I think you will find that feeling still occurring when you read the players handbook. I read the last playtest and still have "that's brilliant" moments. I had one today when reading how energy drain now works for monsters that have it. Draining maximum hps? Brilliant!
