I think that's stupid; they address the issues you're raising perfectly well. You cast one spell, and resolve its effects. You then cast another spell, and resolve its effects. If someone casts Polymorph to turn them into a bear, and then cast Animal Growth on themselves, they become a bigger...

I'd allow it. I'd also happily use it against the PCs; I tend to enjoy min/maxing my NPCs, and turnabout is fair play.

Rot grubs would be totally nerfed if they showed up in 4e. Their nasty tendency to strike by surprise and horribly kill your PC would totally clash with 4e's design philosophy.

There has been someone stating their intention for each character, though only the Wizard, Cleric, and Ranger have had their characters approved. If you want to play, you'd have to pick one of the other three.

There's a class in d20 Past that does what you're looking for, apparently. I've never read the book myself, and it's not DnD (it's d20 Modern), but it'd be worth a look.

It's a general feat that reduces item creation costs by 25% when you are using a particular item creation feat. It can be selected multiple times; each time it applies to a different item creation feat.
