IMO of all the things "wrong" with 3.5, PF1 fixed like none of those. Sure the condensed skill list is fine, but that really wasn't a problem with 3.5. Nobody felt the game was broken because there was both a Listen and Spot skill. Sure fine, grappling is easier, but it's really not that...

Or if you want something different there’s Dungeon Fantasy (powered by GURPS). It’s a 3d8 bell curve system so you succeed a lot and it’s hugely tactical (stuff like facing matters).

That is actually a really great idea! If I still played PF2 I would steal that house rule.

In 5e I can: Move - attack - move - bonus action, and still use shield. In PF2 that would be 5 actions. Movement is so much more flexible in 5e.

I would love DMing a 2e campaign for my PF1 group, but I fear they will miss all the level up stuff. Although 2e has proficiencies there are far less customization.
