Here's a free resource that seems like it could be a fun addition to a Rise of Tiamat campaign: Mace of Tiamat

Why wouldn't it? I mean, what's your main concern?

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

I'm not a fan, personally. I like having my options open for longer. I think it's because a funnel starts out wide (at the top) and narrows down. But yeah, the practical fuction is different, as you say.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

On the other hand, it's far easier to create a character in 5E than it was in 3.X. Fewer moving parts and less pressure to know exactly where you're going right from the start.

Five Takeaways From the 2025 Monster Manual

Maybe, but I think it's more likely than an "advanced monster manual." Could be wrong, though.

Five Takeaways From the 2025 Monster Manual

I think high CR enemies are more likely to come in an adventure path that reaches high levels and includes new monster stat blocks.

    D&D 5E (2014) Valda’s Spire of Secrets: Player Pack in D&D Beyond.

House of Kings, as I'm playing a more melee-focused character. I have the Survival intiation so I can cast shillelagh, and the Mystical Athlete trick. All of this is mostly story-driven, so I don't claim to have mathed out whether it's optimal, though.

I'm playing a Valda's class (Warmage) in an ongoing game right now!

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

I'd love to see it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. But only whatever you feel comfortable sharing at this point, of course.

These sound interesting. Are they posted online anywhere?

D&D 5E (2024) Anyone else dislike the "keyword" style language of 5.24?

I was thinking more "edition to edition"--4E was big on keywords, which some people loved and others hated. Then 5E (2014) largely ditched keywords, which some people loved and others hated. Now 5.5E (2024) has brought back keywords to at least some extent, which some people love and others hate.

D&D 5E (2024) Anyone else dislike the "keyword" style language of 5.24?

It's one of those things where no matter which option you choose, a sizeable portion of the fanbase is going to dislike it. WotC just seems to be swinging back and forth on which group of fans are annoyed.

D&D General Read aloud text in modules: What are folks opinions about read aloud content?

I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

I think you're overestimating the degree to which any given company can predict and/or prescribe what players are going to do with the game--especially a game with this much history. I've seen credible arguments that both 3E and 5E were originally envisioned by the designers as playing slightly...

D&D General Why Were the Dragon and Dungeon Magazines Discontinued?

Honestly, I feel like En5ider hits all those notes.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

I feel like you're contradicting yourself here. You say people should play what they want, but then you strongly imply that not being all on board with the latest changes is bad behavior.

D&D General Why Were the Dragon and Dungeon Magazines Discontinued?

It didn't require the app. I just viewed it on the web. But I was always reading it on an actual computer; not sure whether that would have worked on a phone.

D&D General Why Were the Dragon and Dungeon Magazines Discontinued?

It was Dragon+, technically. And I miss it. Always looked forward to a new issue.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

This seems really obvious to me, so much that I don't get why people try to shame and scold others for it.

D&D General Disease related D&D supplements or adventures?

Here's a book-length third-party option, Harper's Tale. I backed the Kickstarter, which was raising money for Friends of Kids with Cancer. It's meant to be fairly kid-friendly, but I'm sure you could darken it up if that's more to your taste...
