Isn't that what gaming has mostly always been about? Yeah, TPKs happen, but they're far from the majority of cases. Most of the time, the party defeats the BBEG and everybody wins. And it's supposed to be a fun social time. Of course you don't want feelings to get hurt, because that's not fun...

I am currently running a high-level, no-magic-items game. The players accepted that without a murmur, but they balked when I considered also making it a no-feats game during the design phase. So for my group at least, feats are apparently considered more necessary.

This is one of those threads that just boils down to "Better for which purpose?" Neither approach is objectively superior; either one can be superior for a particular user.

I like how you don't specify "copious amounts of cleavage," but the AI helpfully inserts it anyway. You'd think the default for "cleric" would be a bit more modest.

How did you picture that working with a human DM, though? Tabletop D&D and Elden Ring are entirely different genres, even though they have a lot of DNA in common.

To be clear, when you say you have no idea about the character, are you looking for help with the mechanical build or ideas about backstory/personality/etc.?

It isn't, or wasn't, just a VTT, though. They have Maps for that. This was supposed to be an innovative, first-of-its-kind 3D VTT with special effects.
