    D&D 5E (2014) Savage Attack and Critical Hits !!!

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but none of the things we've discussed is equivalent to a +1 bonus. Because you must keep the second result, the feat as written is worse than +1, whereas your house rule is significantly better -- as much as 200 percent better, in fact.

    D&D 5E (2014) rules for attacking with a shield?

I have no problem with that. But you are taking liberties with what the rules mean by "wielding a shield." They very explicitly spell out that it's not enough just to hold it in your hand -- it's actually worn on the arm. That's a huge difference, and probably the thing that sets off my cheese...

    D&D 5E (2014) Uncanny Dodge (Rogue)

Mike Mearls did not say Uncanny Dodge works against all magic. He said it works against "spell attacks," a term that has a very specific meaning in the 5e lexicon. In 5e, spellcasters have a "spell attack modifier," which only comes into play for a very specific subset of spells. It was these...

    D&D 5E (2014) rules for attacking with a shield?

A +2 to AC is a Very Big Deal. To state the obvious, it turns a 45% chance to hit into a 35% chance. As for the written rule about +2 just for wearing a shield, note that that rule is written with the supposition that you're not constantly swinging it about, trying to inflict damage with it...

    D&D 5E (2014) Savage Attack and Critical Hits !!!

That is a great perk ... but it's far more powerful than the feat as written. This is especially true for smaller damage dice such as 2d6 weapons.

    D&D 5E (2014) Shield Proficiency Question

In other words, if you hold a shield and do not have proficiency, you get the +2 AC, but you also get disadvantage on all STR and DEX attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks, and you cannot cast spells of any kind.

D&D 5E (2014) Ghouls still not quite right in MM

Can I also just say I think it's weird that you don't fall prone when paralyzed? Real paralyzed people are not super good at standing up.

    D&D 5E (2014) Uncanny Dodge (Rogue)

That would not be relevant here in any case because in 5e casting any spell will break invisibility.

    D&D 5E (2014) TIME STOP SPELL (9º)

I'm not sure why anyone would debate it: One position results in a spell that is useful and appropriately powerful for its level, while the other position results in a spell that is extremely sub-par. Why would you actively argue to make this a bad spell?

    D&D 5E (2014) Dumping your Warlock Patron

A small quibble -- it is extremely unlikely that a devil would send demons to harass anyone. The two groups do not traditionally get along well. And my personal opinion is that breaking the pact should require a lot more than a simple "Good-bye, nice knowing you." It should be the focus of a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Initiative and Saves

This situation is exactly the reason the Ready action exists -- to mitigate unfavorable initiative timing. If you don't like Ready and refuse to use it, that's your business, but the game works just fine for people who are willing to use all the tools at their disposal.

    D&D 5E (2014) Rating the 1st level Wizard Spells

By reading these comments, it is very easy to tell who has actually played the game with a wizard in the party and who has not.

    D&D 5E (2014) TIME STOP SPELL (9º)

Really? In the very simplest application, imagine a trapped chest or an idol sitting on a pressure plate, all Indiana Jones-style. Those objects are not being worn or carried by any creature, so you can interact with them and not break the spell. But their mechanisms are still stopped in time...

    D&D 5E (2014) Another Polymorph question

RAW, I guess the frog is technically alive. But if it gets reduced to 0 hp, it reverts to its old form and becomes undead again. If you had said "teenage girl" instead of "frog," you'd have the makings of a hit CW drama series.

D&D 5E (2014) Ghouls still not quite right in MM

To anyone who dislikes the "save each round" rule, I very strongly recommend you try playing the game with the rules as written before you house rule anything. Combats in 5e are quick and brutal. A single round is an eternity when you are paralyzed, and every attack against you has advantage...

    D&D 5E (2014) Save dexterity with Plate armor !

Armor does not affect your saving throws in any way. You always include your Dexterity modifier when making a Dexterity saving throw. If you are proficient in Dexterity saves, you add your Proficiency Bonus as well.

    D&D 5E (2014) TIME STOP SPELL (9º)

No, this is actually a very important semantic distinction, not just for DBF, but in many cases. Targeting involves aiming at a specific creature or object. Placing an area effect does not target anything but the point in space where the effect is centered. (Throwing a normal fireball does...

    D&D 5E (2014) TIME STOP SPELL (9º)

I was referring to the exploration "pillar" of the 5e D&D philosophy, which includes such things as trap avoidance and puzzle-solving.

    D&D 5E (2014) Minor illusion cantrip question

Ah, there's the thing I missed. Thanks. But two casters working together could probably do some interesting things. It's surprising how restrictive that 5-foot-cube can be!

    AD&D 1E 1E-style dual-classing?

I think your reservations about 5e multiclassing are completely unwarranted. It's a far, far, FAR better system than dual-classing in just about every respect. If you don't want to delay your feat/stat gain, just level one class to 4 before starting the other class, then switch back when the...
