Mongoose acquires Twilight 2000 and 2300 AD

Personally, I love TW2000. I love Mongoose Traveller. Could I handle a Twilight 2000 using Traveller's engine? Absolutely. I'm sure the newer version is fine but it didn't grab me system wise. Useless fact: The original Twilight 2000 was insanely simulationist. I mean, you even roll your...

D&D General Shadow vs belt of giant strength

I can also see this approach in a similiar way to Tony Stark's arc reactor keeping him alive by repulsing the shrapnel from reaching his chest. Now, the question becomes how to balance it because, as was said, when's the last time any PCs got butt nekkid and took off any gear?

D&D General Shadow vs belt of giant strength

On a side note, I'd LOVE to play in a campaign that treated hit points the same way. That's one thing I love with 1e Legend of the Five Rings. Combat is deadly, as it should be. Because dice explode (roll and add), the first fatality I had in a campaign was a hero taking a goblin stick to the...

D&D General Shadow vs belt of giant strength

I like this ruling. It doesn't give extra benefits to the belt, and makes strength damage still a threat. In a way, I feel it also mirrors how D&D works where you can take 50 damage and still be completely functional at 1 HP, but once that last HP goes away.... splat.

What would be in your perfect Halloween setting?

A couple other Halloween experiences I've had playing, besides the Bloody Barber who was making human parts into creepy scarecrows and jack o lanterns... 1) Using Dread, we played as kids who were invited to a rich kid's halloween party. The kid's dad owned the steel mill and we were all kids...

Trailer Den of Thieves 2: Pantera (2025) Official Trailer

I got this confused with Army of Thieves, the prequel to Army of the Dead, and was disappointed by the shocking lack of zombies.

The Legend of Vox Machina Free on YouTube for Limited Time

VM started as a one shot for, I believe, Liam O'brien's birthday. The reason there's so many half elves is they got to the table (this is based on a 2+ year D&D campaign actual play), and Liam was talking about his character. Laura Bailey also had decided seperately to be a sneaky half elf...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player’s Handbook is ‘Fastest Selling D&D Book Ever’

I wonder when we're talking 'fans' versus 'players', how many of the fans are people who buy the book, and hope against hope to somehow find a group to play with? That seems pretty common, reading reddit, a lot of posts are about 'I've never played and want to find a group'.

Presto's hat always reminds me of Gonzo's trumpet on the Muppet Show opening, where he blows it and something random af happens... except for the one time it just hits this perfect note... and he stops and looks at his trumpet really confused.

On the Clue tangent, when it was released, there were four endings. Each theater got only one of the endings. After how many ever weeks, they rereleased it with all four endings attached so you can find the canonical ending.

I love that scene, but my favorite is her response about her magician husband vanishing. Yeah, but he never returned. ... he wasn't a very good magician.

Looking at my 1979 AD&D DMG - first level clerical spells come from rites they learned and their faith in their god they practice as an novitiate - basically saying the same prayers and rituals you learned as a zero-level . Continued service allows the cleric to use second level spells. Spell...

It depends on where and how this other unnamed party of Earth people manifested. If you read the Guardians of the Flames series, the PCs were all Earth college kids who were magically forced into the body and realm of their college D&D-type game by their professor/DM, who was actually an exiled...

If I recall right, in 1e, it wasn't until you were using level 3+ spells that clerics actually had to reach out to their gods' agents for spells. Level one and two were considered ritual/Catholic High Mass type things
