Appreciate you! That's... quite unfortunate. I wonder if it's just the son, or if it was the father as well. Grappling with the ethics of stuff you like made by people you wouldn't (because they're awful) is always tough.

I developed a love for isometric from the Infinity Engine games (and other CRPGs like Arcanum), and using them for VTTs isn't too bad (usually the folk that make them professionally know what they're doing, and I also used Infinity Engine game maps for my brief flirtation with running online...

It's a remake though, right? Or it is actually a remaster: just tweaked up graphics and some QOL improvements on the base game? Edit: OK it looks like a remake, not a remaster? That could put quite the kibosh on SkyBlivion :')

When last I looked, they were been doing stealth updates to the system without posting patch notes, so there's no way to know what's changed. Maybe bump @pukunui 's + thread and someone else will have an answer :|

I imagine part of the animosity is that the tools themselves were originally created via unauthorized use of all those works online. I guess the next ethical hurdle is WotC's archives of texts and images were made by people- yes, WotC owns them.. would those folk agree with their works being...

Your assumption is that the unknown ruling is bad, without actually knowing what it is. I can understand it because I've done the same, but it's flawed reasoning all the same.

I guess it depends on how you treat "permanent" magicks; often Dispel Magic will only suppress a permanent effect for a time, not remove it entirely.. but perhaps that's just a house rule from playing in previous editions?

Disagree on this :) High strength is useful in many situations.

If you're a fan of potion miscibility tables, use lower-stakes versions. The typical tables are good for one-shots, but otherwise, yeah, permanent 25 strength is pretty broken :')

It's a Stronghold-lite-ish system with the framework of some events n such. The benefits can be anything from making common equipment for you, to making magic items, to research, and more.

I had thought that dice rolls should be used when the outcome is in doubt- not just when failure will have serious results. Other yeah, agreed, there's a limit as to what a die roll will get you. It's not mind control, the shopkeeper isn't going to give something away just for a good die roll.

Everything being same-ey as far as threats/difficulty is what sort of killed Elder Scrolls Online for me. The better method IMO was City of Heroes' mentor system where you were leveled up/down to play with a friend.

I like having it as long as it's punchy. It shouldn't be half a page like some of the worst offenders of old.
