Here's the fix that flex needs. If using a 2handed weapon say greataxe or a longsword with 2 hands, get plus 1 to damage. Add that onto the mastery and it's perfect. This means there is still a reason to swing a longsword 2hded.

That's cool I missed the ranger multiclass part for wis. You can get by with a 13 wis. The best ranger spells dont need a dc.

I'm sorry for double posting but I'm fine with ranged smiting in the core class. Pallys are seriously underpowered in the range department. I would rather their class feature get upgraded than their spells. And I know they get cantrips now but sacred flame sucks and needs an update.
