The mistake I'm talking about is taking certain races out of editions. Tsr dropped the 1/2 orc for 2nd edition.wotc then dropped the gnome in 4th edition. Then hurried to bring it back. I don't give a naughty word about the races powergaming potential. It was not used in 5.24phb for stupid reasons.

Actually final fantasy has had tech in it from the beginning. Shoot the black mage from 9 is very similar to a warforged.

I've always looked at eberron as dnds take on a final fantasy style campaign.

I actually like how the hw is based around hm. That one just needs some fine tuning. Hexblade needs all those saving throws taken off its weapon powers and make hm viable at higher lvls. It's harder for warlocks because they get stronger spells than a hunter.
