I played a few 1st edition modules with 2nd edition as a player. They where mostly compatible. I would say pc classes like ranger and bard where the editions changed the most.

What if I decide to use both? Do you think 2014 gwm is overpowered in 2024? Honestly interested in opnions.

So back on point. I'm actually liking alot of the new ranger with some minor things I don't like. I like hunters mark being the focus of it's damage output. Honestly I think it should not be a spell at all. I also think the hunters ability to hit an extra target, should have been an extra dice...

4e doesn't break down at 5 pcs. That is the sweat spot. Unfornutaly it breaks down with 3 or less and 6 or more especially around 10th lvl. Too many riders to keep track of. But 4th is the best edition for starting new dms.

Nice. It's got to be a big boost for these 3rd party books even with all the wotc drama.

I have my reservations about any "inhouse" games. I mean all they had to do was dark alliance 3. Instead we got a very ugly and poorly developed dark alliance with drizzle and friends.

Sometimes you need to time skip. Sometimes you have to narrate with details, sometimes it's better to just say a week has passed.

I'm glad to see a couple psi subclasses put in core. Did the fireside chat quell some of the hate? Are they ever gonna give us a taste of the updated monsters?

I would ask what the base class gets before I look at the subclasses. How much healing should base class get? Some people like to suggest using hitdice as a pool, but I don't like that. I'm looking at shouts and warcrys. I would also like to see int vs cha at 1st lvl.

I for one would love a plethora of dnd video games, if they are good. I'm not even talking bg3 level good. But after they ruined the dark alliance game, I have my doubts that we will get another good game anytime soon.
