D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

Yeah it must have seemed like a rug pull at the time...

Well, that's eye opening. Thanks for sharing that. (not being sarcastic, by the way, just in case that isn't coming through)

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

WG7 Castle Greyhawk is a better adventure than it gets credit for, though it's a terrible "Greyhawk" adventure. There's a veritable who's who of RPG talent involved. And though the whole may be less than the sum of the parts, I think this would have been more highly regarded if it hadn't been a...

Goodman Games Offers Assurances About Judges Guild Royalties

    a) isn't gonna happen And it wasn't just 2020 he literally never stopped posting racism. I think he took his Facebook private again since the Goodman games brouhaha, but he was still posting reprehensible stuff right up till then.

Surprised he hasn't been offered a cabinet position tbh

Goodman Games Offers Assurances About Judges Guild Royalties

As much as I'm OK with the current state of affairs, since the latest update from Goodman, I wouldn't lose any sleep over their not publishing CSIO at all.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

I feel like this was an unforced error. If I had to distance myself from JG as Goodman did, you bet your butt I would have considered all angles before working with them again. I have sympathy and empathy for Joe in this situation, but this absolutely didn't have to happen. It was a bonehead...

FWIW the Mayfair version shares little besides a name with the original.

Money will be escrowed by a third party, the decision to refund will be taken entirely out of the Bledsaws' hands.

Isnt Palace of the Vampire Queen currently owned by Precis Intermedia, who publishes the RPGPundit? Nope, no thanks.

That doesn't really narrow it down. Be easier to list the minorities Bledsaw Jr. does like. I'll do it now: There, I'm done.

It's enforceable. JG will never see that money. It's going to be escrowed by a neutral third party.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

One of my fears was that, if Goodman dropped CSIO, it would be picked up by a bad actor. Goodman is paying JG for the licenseand ensuring that the funds go to the backers. It's not a perfect solution, but it's as close as we're gonna get. And, to me, it is acceptable. YMMV.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

I, for one, am now mollified. 1. Judges Guild will not benefit. 2. Backers will ne made whole. 3. Gamers will get to see CSIO, updated for modern gamers' sensibilities. I appreciate how difficult this had to have been for Joe Goodman. I will support this project, to put my money where my...

Bob Sr. was not implicated in any of the racist, anti-semite, Holocaust denial nonsense. He was, by all accounts, a great person.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

To further complicate things, someone purporting to be Walt Bledsaw, brother of Bob Bledsaw II, has urged people not to back the project. I have no idea if this is true or not, but he has commented on two different YouTube videos about this: "I am the 3rd son of Bob Bledsaw sr. .Bob Jr. Usurped...

For me, it was Ken St. Andre. T&T is my favorite game, and that one really hurt. I know, I know, parasocial relationships and all that. But I was legit bummed out for days. (To be clear and avoid a derail, I am not saying St. Andre is on the level of the Bledsaws, or Barker. He isn't. But he's...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

I can tell you that JG is, or was, operating at least one Ebay storefront under a false name. I ordered a JG book on the secondary market a few years ago, from a seller who in no way appeared affiliated with them. I do not, and did not, want to give them any money. It arrived addressed from The...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Yes but if you were to be vocally anti-packaging (or anti-EXCESS packaging, a good cause), and to try to raise awareness and drum up support for that, probably nobody here would try to convince you how stupid and futile your concerns and efforts are. And if they did, I'd personally react to them...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

I knew it was only a matter of time before this argument arrived. I saw someone say on The Big Purple, "There is a distinct difference between 'living in the world means sometimes, wittingly or not, one interacts with and even benefits those who might have horrific views' and "'intentionally...
