D&D 5E (2024) OAR 10 City State of the Invincible Overlord

Thinking that racists are a) acting in good faith, and b) can be reasonably and/or constructively debated is a very dumb, very dangerous idea, that often results in... looks around at all of this I'm also not a fan of this thinking because it puts the onus on non-racists to somehow be...

Oh, yeah, I don't think there was any kind of ill intent with that title.

Judges Guild had some... odd titles. Not to mention Inferno, which had a demon that would try to rape female characters.

According to some of the commenters on the failed CSIO KS, Judges Guild are quietly honoring refund requests. Might be worth a try. Of course, it might be a bunch of hooey.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how conflicted do you think the Bledsaws are about Kanye right now?

Aaron Bledsaw is saying on Facebook that Goodman did not buy CSIO and that this is being done under license/contract.

If a red cent of this is going to the Bledsaws, I'll eat my own arm before I'd buy it.

    Overrated/Underrated Geek Media

In general, lowbrow" or genre entertainment tends to be more memorable, or at least have scenes that get etched into the collective psyche. The shower scene from Psycho. "Heeeere's Johnny!" "You better get a bigger boat." Etc.

    Overrated/Underrated Geek Media

I remember in 2005 when George A. Romero's "Land of the Dead" came out. In an interview, director Robert Rodriguez said, "It's been 35 years and people are still talking about Night of the Living Dead. No one is talking about The English Patient."

    Overrated/Underrated Geek Media

Underrated: Wizards and Warriors, a 1983 mid-season replacement on CBS that flopped (though it did win a Primetime Emmy for Best Costumes). I call this "geek media" because it was, according to show creator Don Reo, based in part on his kids' interest in Dungeons & Dragons. I'll eat my hat if...

That's why I prefer the Starter Set... 10 simple rules.

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

Flying Buffalo used to ship their Tunnels & Trolls box sets to the UK sans dice. Seems a "box of books" incurred less taxes than a "game". But Flying Buffalo probably wasn't a good business role model, and this was all a very long time ago.

    Rebellion Acquires Tunnels & Trolls

Big announcement from Rebellion. As a huge fan of old T&T who was, and still is, skeptical of the proposed changes, this actially has me excited. https://rebellionunplugged.com/tunnels-and-trolls-is-coming-2025/

    Rebellion Acquires Tunnels & Trolls

April will mark the 50th Anniversary of Tunnels & Trolls. Of course, Rebellion's version will have changes. But they have said they'll offer some kind of conversion/compatibility, and third party support. I'm hoping they keep the back catalog available as well.
