Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

When my wife and I were pursuing our graduate degrees in Hawaii, we moved four times. Jack in the Box was our go-to moving day lunch--we'd even put the Jack-in-the-Box antenna ball on our car's antenna as some stupid ritual. I always got the sour dough patty melts. I don't think I've ever seen...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The first time I had Chik-fil-a it was in South Carolina conveniently located near a client site. It was the first chicken sandwich I really liked and I went back there the next few days for lunch while I was on site. When it finally came to Minnesota years later, I was happy to have the option...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yeah, the service tends to be very good, much better than you'd expect from a fast food place. I generally don't like root beer, but I really like Culver's root beer. But I almost never get a burger there. I usually get the Beef Pot Roast Dinner or the walleye fillets, when they are in season.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I like a burger now and then, but I've never had a burger that impressed me. I quite liked the burger I had at In-and-Out the one time I went to one in California a few years ago. Shake Shack burgers do nothing for me. I don't like them. Same with all of the more expensive chains: Smash Burger...

D&D In a Castle Organizer to Launch D&D Dungeon Master University

I never had that taboo, but I remember not long ago when discussions about paid GMs in EN World would get very heated. It is interesting how quickly, in only the past few years, there has been a significant change in tone. People will still express dislike, but I see almost no aggressive attacks...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Funny how the alignment argument still has power to derail a thread. As someone with fairly strong pro-alignment (in D&D) leanings, I have to say I find it CE to derail threads by injecting the this cosmic battle into threads where that was never meant to the be the focus of discussion. I must...

    DeGidio's, but I think I'm misremembering.

D&D In a Castle Organizer to Launch D&D Dungeon Master University

Exactly this. I'm speaking from the consumer side. For a one shot, which is most of the paid games I've ever done, whatever. I'll adapt to the table and can have fun with most styles of play. But for a campaign, I would want to know that the DM is willing to let me character die if the dice go...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Kinda like they are keeping the aesthetics of the other books. Seems kinda dated now, but I like it.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Still seems to be alive and well in the midwest. At least Minneapolis and Milwaukee. In Milwaukee, Mader's has signed photos of celebrities from Alfred Hitchcock to Billie Eilish. Manny's Steakhouse in Minneapolis also comes to mind for keeping up the tradition of celebrity signed-photos...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

My dad's side of the family were dairy farmers and the farm had been in the family for over a century. Over 700 acres. There was an area that was junk yard (old tractor/truck/car graveyard), a barn that had been hit by a tornado and they just built a new barn in another area and left the old...

How's it going? Just checking in!

What's the history of this song? Was it just something an old EN Worlder created and posted as a lark? Or is there something more infernal going on here? I've always found it suspicious that Waunakee's motto is "The Only Waunakee in the World." What dark things have they done to keep it that...

D&D General Preparing dungeons without knowing the setting or campaign

I've run low-prep games with more collaborative world building. I tried using tools like Cityographer and Dungeonographer (now both replaced with all-in-one Worldographer). I found Cityographer to be great to generate villages and towns on the fly. It would generate settlements on the fly with...

Yeah, this observation always causes me to get an ear bug of Shel Silverstein's song "The Winner" that Bobby Bare made famous:

Trying out WFRP 4e - Ubersreik Days and Nights [+]

There are various mods that you can use for this, but I've become cautious about recommending mod-heavy approach. They often involve an investment in time to learn and apply only to break on the next update. I've gone back to a more keep it simple approach. I don't use landing pages any more...

Trying out WFRP 4e - Ubersreik Days and Nights [+]

I like that idea, to keep it a meaningful mechanic. But in my current campaign, I'm trying to keep a slow burn on XP awards. I'm running The Enemy Within (just finished the 2nd book, Death on the Reik, yesterday) but I started with the adventure in the Starter Set and have worked in the 5...
