They won't be in the '24 PHB, so they're in the same boat as the other '14 species that aren't. They do steal a little of the Genasi's thunder to the extent that Goliaths are more closely tied to the main giants now, and many of those have an elemental theme.

I like how they've landed on a unique look for gnomes. The long, pointed, and swept back ears and sharp chin give a distinct vulpine shape to their heads. Earthy, but playful. 🦊

Kind of naughty word that that there are no little people in the cast. It's sad when sensitivity becomes erasure.
