Using Music to enhance the Mood

This is one of those things that is very "person specific" and must therefore be handled judiciously. While I personally would love a light soundtrack, I think evey other player in my game would range somewhere between distracted an annoyed.

D&D 4E Reference for all WotC published 4E Battle Maps.

I really like premade poster battle maps*, and decided to try and document all the licensed 4e battle maps that Wizards of the Coast has released. Partially, I want a one stop location that I can reference all the maps available so that when I need a setting I don’t have to look through...

    Revenge of the Giants Review

Very weird, I can not see the second blog either. Furthermore, there is only 1 blog entry count listed next to your profile information.

Sell the fluff, pimp the crunch

Dannyalcatraz , Not to derail the thread, but I respect your opinion, so I want to ask: Why are you not now, nor ever likely to be a DDI subscriber?

    Revenge of the Giants Review

Strictly those that come with the adventure. If anyone cares, I am trying to compile a listed reference (and thumbnail pictures) of the 4ed products that come with pre poster format printed battle maps. I have used the post from Echohawk to derive the product list, and have (mostly)...

    Revenge of the Giants Review

Bold or Stupid, I have a significant favour to ask, and understand fully if you decline. I am working on a project and wondered if you could snap pictures of the battlemaps that are included with RotG as part of the review?

    The incredible shrinking stat block!

Hah, no I understand. I am just saying, as you know, that is a fair bit of work, and not something I would undertake as part of my game prep on a weekly basis. It will be interesting to see if WotC has any interest, but I think your only real shot is in the minion area.

    Do we need a Leader?

Thanks Riastlin. Perhaps you make the point better than I.

    Dear Wizards of the Coast...

I have been banging this drum since the announcement that compilations were no loonger going to be performed on a monthly basis. I even took DDi off auto renew, wrote 3 emails (none of which were answered) and sent an online "customer service query" which they promptly sent to the MtG group...

    Dear Wizards of the Coast...

Poster Maps. For sale individually, in map pack groups, with visible miniatures, etc. Every "DM targetted product" should come with at least one battle map (some do now, but definitely not all).

    Do we need a Leader?

Well Kzach, I don't think I have ever been accused of trolling before, but there is a first time for everything I suppose. :erm: I guess we have a difference of opinion. Cheers.

    Do we need a Leader?

See my post above*. You just might find the opposite occurs, especially depending on the DM's monster tactics. (*Where I generally contend that leaderless combat rounds themselves are quicker than leaderfull combat rounds)

    Do we need a Leader?

Optimally, of course not: "Vee MUST have zee healer to properly play zee game in zee optimal combat manner!" So, if you or the players are optimizers, must remain balanced in each role, and value mechanics over story, then it will be a tough slog. OTOH .... if you eschew optimization...

    The incredible shrinking stat block!

Especially for minions, the result is not bad, but I can not help but think that the time spent "simplifying" these is far from gained back in their simplicity of use.
