D&D 5E (2014) Attack of the Clones: Simulacrum

As long as you are standing there to copy, correct? Because they won't have a 9th level slot after YOU cast it from wish. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

D&D 5E (2014) Attack of the Clones: Simulacrum

Ok, I'm confused about the one thing holding this process back... The PHB says if YOU cast another one, that the previous one is destroyed, implying that the spell was overridden. So, your saying to cast SIMULACRUM, using the WISH spell, and then have the copy make more copies...? And not YOU...

    D&D 5E (2014) Rebuilding a city

Well, the dud clear out Feathergale Spire, Sacred Stone Monistary and Rivergard Keep. (Rivergard is there Haaon the Butcher is hold up with a clone army, which is where they wanted to use as a base, but when they went to finish off the other cultists, Haaon moved in). So, they hold a sentimental...

    D&D 5E (2014) Rebuilding a city

Fortunately, the cultists were of the element of water, but buildings and structures were the mostly damaged. As for the cost of a shed for a peasant.. That's the point, the royalty owned it, they paid a lifetime for it..much like today's homes. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

    D&D 5E (2014) Rebuilding a city

All very good ideas, and many thanks for all the input! Their 15k gp went to a few of things... 1. Sending a message to neighboring towns for vendors to have a fresh start along a trade route. 2. Trying to recruit builders with the promise of a new life. 3. Help restore a known trade route so...

    D&D 5E (2014) Rebuilding a city

My players allowed some cultists to destroy a small town (accidentally). They pooled together 15,000 gp to rebuild and fortify the town of Red Larch. Where can I find a good reference for building up a small town with fortifications? They sent word to nearby town for help to rebuild. Sent...

Cthulhu monster conversions to D&D 5e

Is there a source or PDF out there that has Cthulhu monsters that are converted to 5e stat blocks? I'm about to have my players run into several 'madness' situations. I need Lovecraft monsters converted so I can print up some monster mini's :-)

    D&D Modules and Campaigns

Yeah, I agree. Some of the descriptions require a dictionary because they use obscure words that the commonfolk never use in every day conversations...PotA is full of them. I make my own 'workbook' in Word, and use 2 columns with numbered lines at the bottom to do math. Sent from my...

    D&D Modules and Campaigns

Yeah... but the whole "toy come to a room, and there are 10 orcs eating in the cafeteria"... then having to turn to the monster manual... There's a chance you can moss a monster while prepping. If there was a list at the beginning of each section, with a synopsis, it makes for really fast prep...

    D&D Modules and Campaigns

Here's a screenshot. Back the the main topic... If there was a list at the beginning of each chapter, it would be really helpful Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

    D&D Modules and Campaigns

All really good points! Henry, I find that making a Word document, with 2 columns works for me. First I format the Word doc with 2 columns. Then I search online for stat blocks for the monsters I need. Then I use the Google snipping tool, and paste the entire block into a column. Then, at the...

    D&D Modules and Campaigns

Wouldn't it be nice to see a little extra thought put into a module or campaign, wherein, the writer/editor puts a list of 'needed monsters' and 'named NPCs' at the beginning of each chapter? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

PotA: How did you play the Aboleth in The Plunging Torrents?

I did find that Gar was really a weak villain (he was in the Fane in mine). Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

    D&D 5E (2014) PotA: more questions

Going to the weeping colossus at level 9 would be disastrous. It would also make it unbalanced and anticlimactic to be level 13, and turn around and face-roll the Air Temple. The rail adds a moderate progression and ends with a well deserved climax. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

    D&D 5E (2014) PotA: more questions

Better flow of the story, and better progression in levels. We don't use XP, so it's better for us. Haven't used XP in years Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

    D&D 5E (2014) PotA: more questions

So, since I ran this on a rail, I have the Earth and Fire left. I think I'll have them fight both Princes. They are already decked out with magic items. My players are so seasoned, they face-roll everything (been playing for 20 years). Since we've all played MMO's together, they all know their...

PotA: How did you play the Aboleth in The Plunging Torrents?

I have 5 skilled players. Also, I ran Gar earlier in the Fane... so he's not there to open the portal... Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
