AI is going to hack us.

Exactly! I didn't say it was a flawless study; I agree that its findings could be explained in other ways. Part of the reason I linked to a discussion of the study rather than to the study itself. Yup.

AI is going to hack us.

I linked to a discussion of one on phys.org in the reply to the thread you're replying to.

AI is going to hack us.

You might this link interesting. It's an article on phys.org discussing a clinical study on the effects of AI on critical thinking.

AI is going to hack us.

I would think there are pre-existing mental health issues with these folks.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

Apparently, the original screenwriter had Taskmaster surviving and only find out she didn't make it at an early screening! And an interview with the director explaining why they decided to kill off Taskmaster.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

It's not just the fact that those social issues were addressed, but how they were addressed that stands out to me. How Bob's bipolar disorder was addressed was quite good. Lots of texture/layers/nuance. Very well done. The 'toxic masculinity' you brought up, also well done. Ghost and Yelena call...

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

I also noticed Ava was in the background a lot. When you only have two hours, giving that many characters enough screen time is tough.

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

I admire your, uh... fervour... but this is the second time in the past 24 hours I've wandered into a thread and watched you lose your mind on someone. The people you're directing your vitriol towards don't deserve to be treated like this. Everything okay with you?

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

I don't know anything about the comic book origins of the team; I thought how the team ends up being called Thunderbolts in the movie was pretty funny.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

You did nothing wrong. Some folks blame others when they make mistakes. None of that rubs off on you.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

I didn't mind the short usage of Taskmaster in the movie vs. the implication in the promos... it caught me by surprise. That's what I want from these movies! I call that a gold star in the Disney column. I get you have a different opinion though :) That's a good observation re: bipolar...

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

I was just going to like your post, but decided that wasn't right; I didn't know Gary Gygax, so have no right to add fuel to that fire. But the scenario you've described is a real path to destruction, trodden by many. Did he once settle for a life, then saw an opportunity to leave that life...

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

Speaking of the asterisk, what did you think of its meaning? The New Avengers! It was a lot of build up... a decent pay off. Overall, a really solid MCU entry. I agree with the OP's review. Also, a surprisingly authentic (and touching) portrayal of mental illness. Some bits were a little off...

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

The asterisk is part of the movie's title. The word spoilers, I'm pretty familiar with, as you should be. You made a mistake, you're upset (understandably), but now you're blaming others for your mistake. Not cool, please stop.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

Are you serious? So you haven't seen the movie... but you saw a thread called Thunderbolts*, with the word 'spoilers' right in the title, yet you entered the thread anyway... That one's 100% on you. Come on man.

I'd read the linked article before jumping on that bandwagon!

Computer games and the save checkpoint system

Former software architect here. Capturing a snapshot of the current state of a system really isn't much of a technical challenge, especially if you're not allowing saves during points of particular environmental complexity, like the middle of a non-turn based combat. Recall also that most games...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I wasn't judging folks who block others! I'm just saying I don't do it, and it's because I'll deal with any opinions, even ones I find eyerolling or distasteful.
