    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest Packet 6: Monk reactions?

I at least hope they get unarmed attacks magic items from the start this time.

Pathfinder 2E Problems with percieved overpowered encounters in Pathfinder 1e+2e?

In both 5e and PF2, Wall of Fire only seems to damage creatures (I think in 3.5 too, but I'm not too sure on the object damage rules there).

Pathfinder 2E Problems with percieved overpowered encounters in Pathfinder 1e+2e?

Forgetting how to do the thing you could do yesterday is exactly how preparing spells works, so that's been a thing for a while.

    D&D 5E (2024) 1st level monk. Why?

Buffing Wizards and nerfing Monks was definitely on my bingo card.

D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

The poll only counts the Fighter class, which is 1 out of 14. Then only nonmagical subclasses, which are 5 out of 10, and most of the better ones are magical. Adding in no multiclassing for common things like Rage, and only level 8 and above, I think 70ish% of parties having these Fighters is...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

I remember trying to make a homebrew D&D Monk using the PF2 stance ideas, staring at my screen for 5 minutes, and going, "Eh, I'll just play Pathfinder".

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

It takes a bit of investment, but not too much, you just need to take the Medic Dedication feat first, available at level 2, and be Legendary in Medicine, you'd have 1 legendary skill at level 16 when you can take Resuscitate. So, 2 class feats and upping Medicine to Legendary along your...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

Doing wild things without explicit magic is pretty baked into the system. With just skill feats you can scare someone to death with intimidation, grapple gargantuan creatures with athletics, hide in plain sight with stealth, be immune to fall damage with acrobatics, etc. There's a dedication...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

What's counted as too superhuman can be weird, just look at grappling, a medium PC can do it against a large creature, like a bear, a horse, or a rhino. Now imagine a person holding a Rhinoceros in place with one hand.

There is a Warlord statblock at CR 12 as well, along with the Archmage and Archdruid ones.

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

I think the most impact I've seen a Fighter do in a turn was a level 13 Echo Knight doing 9 attacks with GWM in one go to kill an ancient void dragon thing. Saved us a lot of trouble.

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

For great caster damage, I usually see people mentioning the mass minion spells like Conjure Animals and Animate Objects (they can tank a ridiculous amount of damage, and deal a lot in return as well), and the spells that can deal damage in an area continuously, so you can force enemies through...

Catwoman is faster than light, D&D martials can't compare. ;)

D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

We had a new player going for a Battlemaster Fighter, but ironically it was too complicated since he went GWM, PAM, Sentinel, Tunnel Fighter, the different reactions and what applied to the fighting style confused him a lot. There was also an Echo Knight that did pretty well in a spelljammer...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

After the PHB, Wizards got Bladesinging, Scribes and War Magic, plus Chronurgy and Graviturgy if you count Wildemount. Fighter got Arcane Archer, Banneret, Cavalier, Psi Warrior, Rune Knight and Samurai, plus Echo Knight if you count Wildemount. Wizard seems to have gained 118 new spells...

Pathfinder 2E What Are The Changes In Pathfinder Remastered?

A Monk can have 28 at level 6 if they're in mountain stance and use an action every turn to get a +2 with mountain stronghold. For a less AC focused character, I think you should have it by 8-10.

Pathfinder 2E What Are The Changes In Pathfinder Remastered?

A level -1 Goblin Warrior has a +8 to hit, which means they can hit an AC 37 creature with a Nat 20 and no MAP. A level 14 Adult Red Dragon has exactly that, so an army of goblins could theoretically kill it if they all get within 60 feet and shoot it to nothing. Highly unlikely, but, hey, it's...

Pathfinder 2E What Are The Changes In Pathfinder Remastered?

PF2 also has troops to help with that a bit, a Guard is level 1, but a Guard Squadron is level 5, so they can remain a threat with larger numbers as the players level up.

    D&D 5E (2014) Halflings are the 7th most popular 5e race

While Dwarves don't get an intelligence bump without the Tasha's rules, Mountain Dwarves get medium armor proficiency, which by itself is a pretty decent reason to make a Dwarf Wizard. Edit: Apparently there's even an Eberron Dwarf subrace that gets an intelligence bonus.
