D&D 5E (2014) Wild Speculation: Athas, the World Without Dragons

I can see them going this route and honestly, I’m pretty neutral towards it. As far as Athas is concerned, it doesn’t really matter to me why arcane magic is so potentially destructive to the environment, only that it is.

D&D 5E (2014) What is Your Favorite WotC 5E Setting Book, and Why?

Eberron: Rising from the Last War. It’s the only 5e setting I currently own, although I have been giving serious thought lately to getting Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. It looks really cool.

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces New Critical Role Hardcover Adventure

The folks over on Giant in the Playground have been predicting a Critical Role adventure from WOTC for a while now. Admittedly, they first thought it would be an anthology, but then later switched to thinking it would be a regular adventure path.

Doubtful. This is an adventure, not a campaign setting.

D&D 5E (2014) Unearthed Arcana: Travelers of the Multiverse

Astral Elf. Meh. Autognomes look like they’d be a lot of fun to play. Giff feel like something is missing. Probably it’s just because their racial traits are so few in number compared to the Autognomes. Hadozee and Plasmoids are both quite flavorful. Me likey. Thri-Kreen. I doubt I need...

Well, I’m a bit concerned about this “similar Moral and Cultural range to humans”, but other than that, it all seems promising.

    D&D 5E (2014) How many settings will D&D by 2024?

I’m expecting at least one Magic-to-D&D product every year. Whether it will be an adventure or a campaign setting... I’ve no idea. As for 2e setting bloat, I’m a DC Comics fan. I love alternate universes and therefore see nothing wrong with having as many different campaign settings as I can...

D&D 5E (2014) Which three classic settings do you think WotC will publish in 2022-23? (Fixed)

Just for fun, if WOTC is coincidentally following the current result of the poll up until 2024, we would get: 2022: Planescape campaign (100 votes, first place) Dark Sun campaign (82 votes, second place) Spelljammer cameo (49 votes, fourth place) 2023: Dragonlance (74 votes, third place)

D&D General Ideas for a planar campaign

I’m in the process of building a “Crisis on Multiple Earths” campaign myself, using Mystara, Dragonlance, Dark Sun, and Eberron. Admittedly, my idea doesn’t have a hub world like sigil and focuses more on a simultaneous threat to all four worlds. In a previous Eberron campaign, I had already...

Spelljammer Boo Book: Spelljammer, Space, and Speculation!

I HOPE it’s a Forgotten Realms-to-Spelljammer adventure. Given the beholder behind Boo, Beholders as the big bads. My dream layout for said adventure would be something like this: Chapter 1 = Lantan Chapter 2 = Tears of Selune Chapter 3-? = the different planets in Realmspace. I know the...

D&D 5E (2014) Revisited Setting News: Its not the 2023 Classic setting, but rather for 2024

Cool! I’m still hoping we get Planescape and Dark Sun next year, with Spelljammer as part of 2022’s adventure. 2023... I’m now hoping for Dragonlance. 2024, I’ll bet either Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms.

I’m hoping for Planescape and Dark Sun in 2022, and then Spelljammer in 2023.

    D&D 5E (2024) "The Future of D&D" (New Core Books in 2024!)

I just really want Dark Sun. I also remembered that while they used Horror as a genre term to describe Van Richten’s, in an old Lore You Should Know video, Chris Perkins described the Mournland as “a place that can be very scary”.

    D&D 5E (2014) 2022 & 2023 Predictions Thread!

What I’d like to see: Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse - crunch book. Adventures in Exandria - adventure anthology set in the world of Critical Role. Mostly because everyone over on Giant in the Playground is convinced something like this is happening next year. Shemeska’s...

    D&D 5E (2024) "The Future of D&D" (New Core Books in 2024!)

Setting Innistrad aside for a moment (and assuming he means new with regards to “5e hasn’t created an official product for this place yet”), there are a number of other settings that can easily be described as scary and terrifying. Without necessarily being “horror”-themed. Dark Sun for...
