He moved out of state. Our last game together was maybe three years ago, when our party prevented Tiamat from being summoned to Faerun.

D&D General Tell me about your experiences playing Dark Sun

My first group of players killed the BBEG with this tactic! The Druid turned into a giant tortoise creature, picked up the halfling in his mouth, flung him at disadvantage, and hit. Cue death from flying halfling wielding an iron longsword in both hands.

D&D General What's your favorite starter sandbox region?

Not sure if it was intended to be a starting area or not, but my old DM always seemed to start off his Golarion games in this one city ruled by this absolute £¥@$# of a queen. By all the gods of Pathfinder RPG, I hated that place. EDIT Just checked online. The city was Korvosa, the queen was...

D&D General Tell me about your experiences playing Dark Sun

I’ve never played in Dark Sun. For me, it’s one of those “run the game you want to play” situations. Both times I’ve run a 5e Dark Sun-in-all-but-name setting, the players have told me it was shockingly different from what they were expecting. Less fantasy Arabia and more “Bronze Age at the...

    D&D 5E (2014) 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

Birthright is mentioned on page 68 of the DMG, alongside the Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Dragonlance, Dark Sun, Eberron, and Mystara. On Aebrynis (the heroic-fantasy world of the Birthright setting), scions born from divine bloodlines carve up the continent of Cerilia. Monarchs, prelates...

D&D 5E (2014) Kobold Press (and are they the new Paizo?)

Apart from their excellent guides on game mastering and worldbuilding, I’m sad to say that the only thing I found interesting about Kobold Press (and their Midgard setting) were the clockwork mages of Zobeck.

    D&D 5E (2014) 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

You do realize that the so-called “right” way of treating these fictitious species at the table is facing considerable backlash in the real world, right?

    D&D 5E (2014) Dark Sun doesn't actually need Psionics

Reply to OP. Dark Sun may not need Psionics, but it is a nice addition that makes thematic sense in my opinion. This is a really cool idea. I think I might use a modified version of this.

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

Eberron campaign ended on a high note. Thanks to the players: New Cyre was declared a fully independent city-state. Merrix d’Cannith won the power struggle within House Cannith. The ir’Tain family got the crown after Boranel died in his sleep. The Church of the Silver Flame has fully replaced...

Maybe set the hypothetical Spelljammer Campaign Guide in the Astromundi Cluster, with a nice table or two in Chapter 4: Building Spelljammer Adventures for creating your own crystal spheres, with different types of planets therein.

raises hand Umm... I thought Tracy Hickman was a guy. Unless I missed something in the news? Sounds good to me. I believe 4e did something similar, with spelljamming taking place on the Astral Sea.

Finished my second, eberron campaign! The Orc Cleric is a living saint, the Khoravar Sailor redeemed himself, the Cyran Necromancer is now bolstering New Cyre’s defenses with undead, and the Vadalis “Tech”lock is the face of House Vadalis in Breland.

    D&D 5E (2014) 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

After Ghosts of Saltmarsh, I would argue that adventure anthologies is a good way to go for 5e Greyhawk. Forgotten Realms gets an Adventure Path detailing specific regions, most other settings get a hardcover Campaign Guide, and finally Greyhawk gets Module Anthologies detailing specific regions.

D&D General Great and not so great setting specific sourebooks/modules

Tamire Elves are quite similar to the Tairnadal Elves in attire. Old Aurim is pretty much Darguun. Hobgoblins even live here, among the ruins of a now destroyed human civilization. The Scorned Dwarves live underground and are fighting a war against slime-covered aberrations called Disir. The...
