Brennan Lee Mulligan to GM Critical Role Campaign 4

Yeah, not sure how this all breaks down but Tal'Dorei Reborn was a Darrington Press book, and Explorer's Guide to Wildemount was a WotC book.

New Daggerheart Kickstarter Announced, Chris Perkins, Jeremy Crawford's Plans Revealed

Speaking only for myself, it rankles me that larger and larger companies across numerous areas are using it to fund projects rather than use their own capital or finding capital through more traditional means. The problem is that "What is a large company?" rears its head. I may have a perception...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Some folks have gone from whether pineapple should be on pizza to "let's psychoanalyze the chef for why he would ever think to put pineapple on pizza".

New Daggerheart Kickstarter Announced, Chris Perkins, Jeremy Crawford's Plans Revealed

I understand the sentiment that Kickstarter is for small companies launching a product but I've largely had to give up on this mindset - it's a minuscule industry, and the platform is out there for companies to gauge interest and raise money to make those products happen. If they can make use of...

Brennan Lee Mulligan to GM Critical Role Campaign 4

The D&D / CR alignment made sense when we still saw the use of Vecna in the game, or monsters such as Beholders and Mind Flayers. But increasingly, product identity has meant Critical Role has had to divest themselves of the very things that I would expect to see in a bonafide, official, This is...

Purple Dragon Knight Retooled as Banneret in D&D's Heroes of Faerun Book

Trying to keep lore built over a 40 to 50 year timespan in check when your goal is to put out an exciting product that people want to play seems like a bad idea to me. Especially when it's lore that you have full control over, and you've already made several very clumsy attempts at trying to...

True. I’m East coast and have never been able to watch an entire episode at actual broadcast time.

Which Chips (or Fries) Are the Best?

I’ve gotten so used to just having fries with only salt on them that having ketchup just seems wrong to me. I’ll do malt vinegar, truffle oil, Parmesan, garlic and oil, or best of all..mayonnaise, but hardly ever ketchup anymore.

    D&D 5E (2014) Running the shortest game?

I’d run something like Death House (5e Ravenloft) with pregen characters and run it DCC funnel style. Let the bodies hit the floor.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

One of the best things that I did was turn off reaction notifications and auto following threads.

Brennan Lee Mulligan to GM Critical Role Campaign 4

There were a lot of complaints about C3 that also had to do with the original cast not actually doing anything. The pacing became glacial several times because sometimes they would be so indecisive. Mulligan is really good at keeping the flow going. If things slow down, he’ll throw a proverbial...

    Draw Steel News

It’s a catch-22. He’s the face of the company, he’s got their biggest product so far releasing, and it’s his company. Gen Con’s a big marketing opportunity. On the flip side, if you HATE it, you are ultimately the boss and what other reason do you own a company than to make your own decisions...

Brennan Lee Mulligan to GM Critical Role Campaign 4

I think Mulligan right now is the only logical choice who can step into Mercer’s shoes (who is still a player). Dimension 20 has gotten pretty big in its own right; they just had their sold out show in Madison Square Garden. It’s a risk, but I think it’s a reasonable one if they want to grow.

Brennan Lee Mulligan to GM Critical Role Campaign 4

I think more casual or occasional watchers may be tuning in for D&D itself but the people watching week after week…a show that runs regularly for 3 to 3.5 hours or more - I doubt they’re focused on the game system primarily.

Brennan Lee Mulligan to GM Critical Role Campaign 4

I agree…as the show has progressed from season to season, the D&Disms have dropped away, in part because of what I suspect are IP related reasons. The system has increasingly become more transparent. I have a hard time believing that it’s the D&D that people who are hooked on CR are coming to watch.

Really depends who they pair up with. I think fresh blood that can create some new player dynamics and change of pacing might be a good thing for them. Plus it gives them the opportunity to have reunion games that brings the OG back for special occasions. At some point, the band needs to break...

They’re adding new players, which kind of sounds like they might be splitting the cast up.

Feels to me like with all the product announcements they made, a Daggerheart Critical Role campaign would be striking while the iron is hot.

    What's Your Price Limit?

Yeah that’s much more of a likely cap for me because I know I’ve spent once or twice in the $300 range. North of that would have to be something so incredibly dialed into my precise interests and I’d be checking with my wife beforehand anyways.

A New Hope Returns to Theaters in 2027 for 50th Anniversary Celebration

On a related note, Jaws is coming back to theaters for its 50th this month, and that’s one I didn’t get to see on the big screen. That’s one I definitely wanna see.
