    D&D 5E (2024) Stealth Errata

Has DnD ever had good hide rules? I suspect the 2024 rules are just keeping with tradition.

    D&D 5E (2024) Stealth Errata

Let's not go to crazy levels, dozens might be more accurate than thousands :ROFLMAO: I find it is useful when I have a rules inquiry to get different view points, it often helps me figure out how I want to rule on these fringe cases.

    D&D 5E (2024) Stealth Errata

Depends how argumentative your players are. I think with my group I can get away with saying, I've discussed this with others online and this is how I'm ruling it, and then we get back to the game.

    D&D 5E (2024) Stealth Errata

In that situation, I didn't allow rogues (or anyone who tries to stealth) to become hidden again, once they know that you're behind that boulder you can no longer pop up and keep surprising people. If it was a wall or something similar that allowed you to reposition unseen, then they could get...

D&D 5E (2024) Multiclassing: Slots and Prepared Spells

The rules for this hasn't changed, it's still based on the individual classes. If one of your classes is a 4th level wizard they are still limited to 2nd level spells in their spellbooks, even if they have 3 levels of arcane trickster which grants them the spell slots of a 5th level spellcaster.

D&D General To multiclass or not to multiclass

I clicked other mostly because both of the other options are reasons for me to multiclass. My current character is a barbarian/wizard, that was a multiclass to fit the concept, but another multiclass I like is champion or battlemaster/swashbuckler because I find they fit well together. I...

Roll D6! Small YouTube Channels to Enhance Your Gaming

I like Bandit's Keep he has some interesting insights about the older games, I believe he and his gaming group play 0dnd.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

I'm already aware, that's why I think the comparison is so apt.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

    They're the modern day luddites.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

I've been turned off WotC products anyway so it makes little difference to me, but, I wouldn't care if it was just the art (DnD has had some awful artists over the years anyway, why not use AI), though I'd prefer the art to still be good. For the main content though, I'm not sure I would, after...

    AD&D 2E 2E Thief Rewrite

This is the Rogue class I made, haven't tested it and it does use some homebrewisms as well (listed below). Classes know all of their class weapons rather than it being a list to choose proficiencies. Warriors can specialise, non-warriors can add additional weapon groups known (such as a wizard...

    AD&D 2E 2E Thief Rewrite

Do you use proficiencies? I ended up removing the thief and turning all of their skills into proficiencies allowing anyone to learn them. In the thief's place I created the rogue which belongs to the warrior group and is more dex based, has some stealth ability similar to the elf, and also gets...

D&D General What races/species populate your DnD world?

In my setting I have the following that definitely exist. Typically includes any subraces, though dragonborn are split by the subtypes of frost, flame, storm, stone, life, and death. With a rare few being chaos (traits from 2 types) or platinum (which never manifests as part of a chaos...

D&D General What Bits of History Inspire Your Homebrew Setting?

I have developed the bare bones of a Mediterranean setting which takes historical/mythical notes from around that area, ignoring the differences in time that areas actually existed. So I have a Greek/Roman empire (or empires), Sumer and Babylon fighting for dominance, Phoenicia on the edge of...

    D&D 5E (2024) Species/Racial/Cultural Subclasses

I'm pretty sure I recall some paragon paths for tieflings and dragonborn, maybe in Dragon. I actually really like the idea of a subclass that is built for a specific race which enhances their racial powers.

    Overrated/Underrated Geek Media

Jeff Goldblum is hands down, the best at playing Jeff Goldblum. As for the Rock, he tends to make entertaining movies, he's an action/action-comedy movie star he doesn't need to have great range.

What are you reading in 2025?

I loved saga of the seven suns. The trilogy that followed was also very good.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

I kind of feel like this is a sadness within long-term players, especially those who have picked up each new edition and had fun playing them, to then reach a point where the current edition of the game, which you've supported for so long, has now passed you by. With social media being what it...

    AD&D 2E Huh. AD&D 2e is my favorite D&D

One of the things I liked about becmi was that I only had to take the one book into school. With 2e, I think I was taking the core 3 of PHB, MM, and DMG.
