Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Divine Domains

Personaly I think they went pretty safe with the domains. at the moment we have 2 basic types. Bonus cantrip + Potent spellcasting and Heavy armor + Divine strike. I hoped they might have tried maybe coming up with a new base type.

    D&D 5E (2014) CHALLENGE: Change one thing about 5e

The inspiration and trait mechanic. Advantaged can be gained in so many ways that many don't bother keeping track of their character traits. and if they do it is a lot of work for a DM to keep constant track of 5 traits per player character. Maybe put a bit more focus on alignment as a RP...

D&D 5E (2014) What Arcane Traditions would you like to see

from a mecanics point of view it might be interesting to see a wizard that is focused on using lower level spells in higer level spell slots.

Unearthed Arcana What does Unearthed Arcana need?

Personaly im more interested in looking at character build options then strictly at sub classes. yes there are 6 Patrons but also 3 boons giving you 18 diferent builds. So for the warlock they can expand the build options a lot faster then for many other classes. just adding one more boon...

Unearthed Arcana What does Unearthed Arcana need?

If you look at domains there are basicly 2 types the ones with heavy armor and Divine strike, and those with a bonus cantrip and potent spellcasting. So maybe they could come up with a 3rd type. And maybe a optional rule for advanceced players where once can chose heavy armor or bonus cantrip...

    D&D 5E (2014) Longswords

You might add another sword to take the rapiers place. If you look at DnD the blades seeom to go Dagger, short sword, longsword, greatsword. Looking at how historians categorise blades it tends to go : ( lengths given are high end) knives dagger (50 cm) arming sword (90 cm) longsword ( 130...

Why there won't be a "Player's Handbook II"

If there is going to be a book wth player options I might wasnt to see them based around a theme. A example might be the book Sandstorm in 3.5 that had desert and arabian nights options fo all classes, and specific rules for running a desert campaign.

Why there won't be a "Player's Handbook II"

They also tried to move away from ths in the DnD esentials line (4E). The 2 books that contained races and classes in that line where called Heroes of the Fallen lands and Heroes of the forgotten kingdom.

D&D 5E (2014) Killing is bad: how to establish morality

Maybe some stress system? Where comitting actions that a character would consider moraly wrong would give the character stress points. When resting the character rolls a D20 if he rolls lower then his current stress score he is unable to rest ( think all of us had a sleepless night in rl) and...

D&D 5E (2014) Characters are not their statistics and abilities

But when calling a character inept many have a focus on combat. But bringing a character that is adept doing other tasks ans at least capeble of keeping himselve out of truble might be something a adventuring party might consider.

    D&D 5E (2014) Heretical books

Donjon has a tome generator http://donjon.bin.sh/d20/tome/index.cgi some examples: the Fiendish Apocrypha of Arida This book is bound in carved wood plates. When first opened, one minor mundane item possessed by the reader crumbles into dust. The Corrupt Articles of Gili This rare libram is...

D&D 5E (2014) Wanting more content doesn't always equate to wanting tons of splat options so please stop.

I wonder if it may also be a geographical thing. For example where I am in the netherlands orginised play is a non existent thing. Also in the area we see, to have a focus on building your own world, and playing a pre published adventure is something I have only seen done a few times. And when...

D&D 5E (2014) Converting 5th Edition Core Books from Forgotten Realms to Post Apocalypse

You might first want to do a step 0. "Post Apocalyptic" is very wide talk to your players to de construct "Post Apocalyptic" to find out what they specificly like about it. Is it that it is a hard world, scavenging recources, that is plays out on a version of earth tech level ? so does it...

So I want some advice on how to do what i want.

If you increase the number of spell slots casters get I would recemend removing the scaling from the cantrips. These where put in to help the caster cope with the lower number of spell slots, and this is why the efect of cantrips scale with level doing more damage for higer level casters.

New "Lore On Giants" Preview from Volo's Guide to Monsters

My complaint would be the following: the traits ideals bonds and flaws presented asume things about giants ( that might be true for giants in forgotten realms) But might not fit the idea I have about giants for my homebrew campaign, and thus is just a waste of space. This will clearly be a...

D&D 5E (2014) Is It Impossible To Benefit From 'One With Shadows'?

I diden't read the whole tread so don't know if it was mentioned. But one of the benifits people often over look when it comes to invisiblity is that is makes you unable to be targeted by certain spells and abilities. For example magic Missle can only target creatures you can see, you might know...

D&D 5E (2014) Build for players, or build natural?

There are some tricks to make a world feal natural but take character level in account. One trick is to imagine escalating situations in sifrent areas in the world and how they might play out if the players woulden't be there. for example it bigins with 2 thieves guilds fighting for control of...
