D&D 5E (2014) If you were to rename the Halflings for a neutral setting, what would you name them? (thread 2/3)

They call themselves the Fortunate Folk, everyone else calls them the Folk.

D&D 5E (2014) If you were to rename the Drow for a neutral setting, what would you name them? (thread 3/3)

While Dark Elves works, it’s not what they would call themselves, most likely. So, for a neutral campaign, think about what they call themselves. How about the Sutter (bastardisation of subterranean > subterra > suttera > sutter).

D&D 5E (2014) How Many Dragon Fights Have You Had in D&D 5e?

Oh, no, 3. Clockwork dragon deep in an ice cave. Took them all (now 4) out bar the Barbarian who again critted and described the most amazing death, none of which was witnessed by the others who were on death saves and didn’t believe him when they came to. I think it was this success that led...

D&D 5E (2014) How Many Dragon Fights Have You Had in D&D 5e?

Two, both with the green dragon from LMoP. Fight 1, disastrous. Party Druid 1hp from insta-death, Ranger nicked a trinket, they ran away. Fight 2, replaced the 2 reds from the end of When a Star Falls conversion with the same dragon hunting for his trinket. EPIC. Druid cast Jump on the Barbarian...

Live by it, die by it...

Re: secret doors - Investigation, not Perception. Make things they have to ACTIVELY search for (and describe how) rather than Perception being the grand daddy. Kind of: Passive Perception = you know something is up as you walk in the room and so spot the Piercer on the ceiling “I make a...

Narrating Hit Points - no actual "damage"

For those with +0 CON it’s a bit harsh so you could add their Level + Total CON bonuses to make up the ‘meat’/wound narration.

Narrating Hit Points - no actual "damage"

Spitballing... CON bonus per level (min. 1 per level even with negative Con) = actual ‘meat’ Narrate any Attack that deals that amount of damage or more as a wound Ask players to announce when they are within their Level 1 HP range as being “Ok, I’m bloodied” You just need a couple of numbers...

D&D 5E (2014) Magic Initiate - A guide to an underestimated (and cool) feat

8 pages to sift through so apologies if already covered, but...your opening para describes Eldritch Blast as being useful at higher levels for attacking multiple opponents. But a Magic Initiate just gets the basic level of the cantrip. Unless they have 5 levels of actual Warlock (in this case)...

    Help with Druid's Moral Discussion

Sounds like the player got a bit confused, thinking that the feeling of being free meant that the wolves were somehow evil or had become hosts to parasitic nastinesses, rather than thinking that this feeling showed them to be now ex-mind controlled. If that's the case then he thought he was...
