D&D General Darkvision, Dim Light, and Disadvantage

But, while you are right that this is permitted within the rules as presented in 5e, I'd argue that being able to walk up to a creature, pintpoint exact the 5ft x 5 ft zone they are standing in and attack with disadvantage is far from what I'd call ''blind''. it could be: Blinded You...

D&D General Darkvision, Dim Light, and Disadvantage

This. Blindness should be: you can't target any creature (not counting yourself) or object with an effect that requires sight and attacks have advantage against you.

D&D General Darkvision, Dim Light, and Disadvantage

You could consider dim light as half cover and halve attack range from ranged attacks?

Sell me on Warhammer fantasy rpg?

Good question. Some points; Less active abilities and ressources for characters. Power budget comes more from adventuring rewards than from the characters normal progression. Kits that modifies your base class with pros and cons instead of another layer of character build. Features come online...

Sell me on Warhammer fantasy rpg?

Yeah, I believe my discontent towards D&D as presented in 2024 is a symptom of me getting old

Sell me on Warhammer fantasy rpg?

Uh, thank you, I believed OSRIC was yet another B/X clone. You learn something new everyday. I was born in 1990, so the many pre-3e editions and their versions and their revisions tend to get confusing for me.

Sell me on Warhammer fantasy rpg?

AD&D had many convoluted rules that were streamlined, modified (or removed) due the videogame limitations. I could probably go over the 2e D&D rules books and remove a bunch of things, but I'm looking for a more ''move-in ready'' system, for now. Once I get very desperate I'll probably resort...

Sell me on Warhammer fantasy rpg?

Wow, thank you for the answer. I'll strike it from the list! The two contenders for my next system are ShadowDark or Dragronbane, for now. I'm trying to get the same ''feel'' as when playing BG 1-2 back in the days, so something gritty but with a dose of videogame-yness.

Sell me on Warhammer fantasy rpg?

Hi, Im trying to move on from D&D for various reason and am in the market for a new TTRPG. Im wondering if WFRPG 4e (Cubicle 7 ?) could be the one. Love the flavor and the lore, but Ive always been intimidated by the new mechanics. Id like to l know does the game play; is it super crunchy or...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 PHB/DMG/MM art/layout: like or dislike?

This is also my position. The art is great and a high production value, but it does not represent the fantasy I'm looking for. So I'm moving on.

    D&D 5E (2024) Rules that annoy you

Some Houserule for healing stuff we use: - For Medicine check on dying character I use a DC 15 and a use of Healer's Kit to give advantage on the target next death save. A failure by 5+ gives disadvantage. - Health Potion gives you ''advantage'' on healing roll for 1 hour ( just like...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

And at least with online resource used at the table, they dont waste time cracking open their PHB each time they cast a spell or trying to decipher the badly scribbled shortened version of their features. Or remember which die is the d20.... ...god they're bad.

    D&D 5E (2024) Player's Handbook 2024 Table of Contents

The PHB doesnt give you named Fiend for your warlock patron or Tiefling lineage, nor does it gives named options for the progenitor of my dragon sorcerer. Does that make those options unplayable?

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

yeah, I mean it does fit in the narrative his community loves him for. For people with no interest in youtuber being contrarians for the sake of it, its pretty un-appealing. Booted Heal should be an healing item craft-able with cobbler's tools.

D&D 5E (2024) The Sorcerer 2024 is the strongest class.

It does look good. Most powerful? I dont think so, but it strong enough to not make you regret taking the class. I've had a dwarven dragon sorcerer pushing CON over CHA on the docket for a while, I'm curious to see how well it will do with the 2024 version.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Let's be honest: he knew quite well what he was doing, and being ''caught'' also help him spin his narrative of ''big bad WotC crushing the little innocent content creator beneath their feet''. Its a win-win for him.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Spell Changes

Is there still spells requiring magic attack rolls? I noticed recently that in the 2014 playtest spells always targeted a save, and with the talk of moving cause wound and ray of enfeeblement to saves, I wonder if they went back to that idea.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Spell Changes

I've read that the it inflicted Incapacited on casting, then Unconscious if the enemy fails a save on their turn. I think its from @DavyGreenwind thread, IIRC.
