    D&D 5E (2024) Creature Stat Blocks in 2024 Player's Handbook

Attacks auto-proning does make Str saves totally obsolete, as that was their whole function. But at least it streamlines play (or it would, but they gave us Topple weapons to take up that time). And Giant Goat in Str saves.

    Spoilers Alien: Romulus (Spoilers)

Started off slow, but then it gave us lovely chunky tech and a cool soundtrack... only to get worse as it went. The movie would be better if you cut out, like, 15+ minutes of dumb stuff. Then it would be a capable teens in spaaaace. YES

    D&D 5E (2024) 5.24e New Cleric

It only takes 1 attack out of those to grapple the Cleric... Or the Cleric could trigger an opportunity attack from the Monk before it's the Monk's turn, and get grappled that way for free.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 PHB Release Hype Thread

I'm actually excited to play a Thief Rogue! With 1 level of a caster class, you'd get access to their scrolls (and can create cantrip/lv1 scrolls on your own, to feed to your bonus action habit). Though, as using higher-levelled scrolls than you can cast is at best a 50/50 roll (d20+casting...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

In a setting where someone can get hit by a greataxe and remain 100% functional after... a little thin stick flying through the air can fairly be assumed to be even less impactful. You gotta really get in there and saw through all that meat!

No. It specifies 'crossbow' for every benefit now.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Technically you could just pull out a different crossbow to take the extra attack... Loading still is not 'you can only shoot one weapon requiring Loading per turn', it's still per object.

    D&D 5E (2024) How D&D Beyond Will Handle Access To 2014 Rules

It's only reasonable to not want to have to second-guess what's changed when you're mid-campaign. Like, a player sees a bunch of goblins, goes to cast Sleep... it's a single-target control spell now, what. EDIT: okay, the new Sleep is a 5ft sphere, you know what I mean.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

While Archery is as amazing as ever, CBE is just a feat tax to use crossbows in the first place, and Sharpshooter just ignores cover now (that is, feat tax for shooting into melee)... And, while it's nice to hit reliably and that's fine as the ranged niche, melee feats actually raise your damage...

Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

On Star Wars Outlaws, now that reviews are out, even people who only wanted a predictable Ubi open world (but in Star Wars universe) aren't happy. Why would you make everything about forced stealth sections, in a game that isn't built around stealth, in a universe that is about running and...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

If ranged was limited to Slow/Push, I could see this, but they also get Vex (so expect to still see a lot of hand crossbows). I want to say that it's mitigated by there not being a way to increase your ranged dmg output through feats now (big weapons get GWM/PAM, TWF gets Dual-Wielder for an...

Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

I like how the video starts off with spoilers, rather than just saying 'here we fight some of our goofy-looking darkspawn'. But the combat looks good... provided the 3 abilities limit doesn't get on one's nerves. I'm particularly happy that they decided to make sword-and-shield actually cool.

    D&D 5E (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

You can reroll any die. Go wild. (they may yet clarify that maybe rolled hitpoints should not actually be a part of this)

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

On that note, the real trade-off between Str (which is weaker now, as Athletics isn't grappling anymore, and monsters knock prone without a Str save) and Dex (still great), is that you have no weapon mastery choice with Finesse weapons - only Nick and Vex. When previously I might've been curious...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Why would it be? Level 5. Players met a devil and made a deal with it, as you do, as 'you can trust devils'.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Indeed. I'm waiting for someone else to go through word by word for that. I did run the 'first fully 2024 session' just now, and this is of course a session where we didn't have combat. So me pointing out that you can put away your shield as an object interaction now didn't even get used.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Those are mostly differences to 2014, not the playtest. How else would I be running 2024? I have access to one, yes.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

It really, really isn't. Biggest change is that Dual-Wielder gives you an extra attack, which could be used to hit with a Topple weapon, prompting a lot of extra rolls... but besides that, enh. I'll be running a 2024 game tomorrow, and I struggled to think of anything I'd need to mention to my...
