    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

Much to my annoyance, you can still use any creature larger than you as a mount (and don't have to control them). And they did not change the forced dismounting rules (any push/prone effect on either of you makes the rider do a DC10 Dex save or fall off the mount, prone)... even though there are...

    D&D 5E (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

Vex is Puncture by another name. Neither of them is a good name for what it does.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Yeah, you saying it reminded me of where I'd seen it.

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

Pointbuy/array Fighters I do think now find it really tempting to stay single, just because that lv6 feat into lv8 feat lets you hit that 20 main stat at a good point for any campaign (and if the campaign does continue, then you're close enough to lv11 and 3rd attack, and then you're just one...

D&D General Will you play the Revised 2024 rules?

Only reason I'm running a DnD game is because the playtest gave a reason to set one up. So might as well get the rest of the changes in. If someone else was going to run a DnD game, sure, I'd join as a player, and become a golf bag of weapons. If that's what you gotta do as a martial for...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

It doesn't feel good, though... When you're rolling a d12, getting a 3 feels the same as a 1. It's only good for greatsword. That said, I have already had a player pick Graze just to always do something, so with that one the feel seems to be there. Good point. Though TWF would get more out of...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Hopefully the rest of your team will be there too. Graze is fine in empty-room no-advantage-from-teamwork DPR scenarios, I just don't see it being an attractive mastery.

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

DnD4e and PF2e do not have this caster superiority problem.

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

Even if you're in the rare campaign going all the way, you'll spend a lot more time at levels lv2-19, than at lv20.

    D&D 5E (2024) Fighter weapons and masteries

Yes. I'll note at this point, that a lot of the basic animals will automatically Prone you now if they hit you, no save. Which is good for Moon Druids, and terrible for anyone with Str save as an actual proficiency that used to do something.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

They didn't raise GWF's damage higher than 1&2=3 for fear of the greatsword... But then they gave greatsword Graze, which is not an appealing mastery, so it's unlikely you'll see people use greatsword in the first place. What a combo. (here's your tiny reward for failing, it's of no use if you...

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

The only class I think begs to dip for 1 level, is MonkX into Rogue1 (2 x expertise, Nick mastery, sneak attack) - they get a huge damage boost out of it if they want to go with a dual-blade ninja aesthetic (that also gives them a ranged option with a dagger, whose d4 damage die gets replaced by...

D&D 5E (2024) Lots of new Lance options

FWIW, because Lance is not Two-Handed when mounted, you can use it with Dual-Wielder.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

A rules oddity that I'm not a fan of, is that it now makes sense for the two-handed warriors to walk around with a shield out, and then object interaction it to their back while they draw their two-hander during the attack action... Because hey, especially if you're a low-Dex heavy armor user...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Their idea of what a scimitar is has always been bizarre. You can (though you need 3 weapons, which is super great for your magic weapon needs): Attack with dagger1, stow it (ExtraAttack with rapier in main hand) draw dagger2 (as part of Extra Attack or with free object interaction), Nick...

Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

Anything that makes Solas upset, is good. Anything that gives dwarves magic powers, is going to make me highly suspect whether anyone has read the world lore. Ah well.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

It has nothing to do with following the rules. They only follow them to the point they need (readied actions), and then pull out physics = damage out of their behind.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

Stop blaming the community for WotC employing a 'pass as is or scrap entirely' method, that they never communicated to anyone but themselves. This already affected the latter feedback, where people went around pre-emptively attacking others for considering voting for anything other than superb...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

Not the same, at all. Peasant railgun has no mechanical support (there is no acceleration to damage formula in the game), while shield-weaponjuggling-dualwield is directly mechanically supported.
