    D&D 5E (2024) Fighter weapons and masteries

Not for me. They could have used 'before you roll to attack' if that was meant (or conversely, 'when you hit', if they wanted to be lenient) - now we're in the hazy middle-ground again. Like, no-one with a Graze weapon is looking to miss with it on purpose, but giving up on that Graze and then...

    D&D 5E (2024) Fighter weapons and masteries

We're talking about the lv9 Fighter feature, where they can pick from multiple options? 'when you attack... you can replace the mastery property with Push/Sap/Slow for that attack' Well, that's not exact. Frustrating.

Vex and Slow respectively - finally giving the shortbow a mechanical reason to exist! Honorable mention goes to Heavy Crossbow's Push, because there's often a time when yes, you would like that one ranged push.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

No no, that's still there. It doesn't really give any examples of what it applies to, but it'd be hard to argue that your weapon isn't an object you're interacting with. 'You can interact with one object or feature of the environment for free. For example, you could open a door. If you want to...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Yep. Playtest TWF style was: 'When you make the extra attack granted by the Light weapon property, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the extra attack.' which is relaxingly straight-forward compared to the 2024 entries.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

And in the case of TWF style, it really can be argued both ways whether it applies. I'm picking my side based on the fact that they changed the style's wording away from playtest version talking about only applying to Light property extra attack. And also because it gets goddamn messy to...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

It's never been that because of its mechanics, just brand recognition and availability. If anything, the success of 5e allows Crawford and peeps to double down on first draft text is good enough, print it.

Oh god, off-hand is another thing that goes back to 3e assumptions, isn't it.

    Oh no, they dubbed it.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Agree to disagree. As you cannot use Dual-Wielder without doing the triggering action, the feat attack surely is "an extra attack as a result of using a weapon that has the Light property". Yeah. TWF style says 'you get the mod when you otherwise would not'. That's a lot more specific.

In the starting post of this thread are all the parts that make up two-weapon fighting.

I don't think 'off-hand' is a term that's used anywhere in the book now.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

In the starting post of this thread. There is no 'two-weapon fighting rule', there is only Light property, Nick, Dual-Wielder and TWF style that make it up.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

It's yet another part of TWF that's not written tightly. Either you gain one possibility of the Light property extra attack per Attack action, or you gain just the one chance if you've taken the Attack action sometime in the round... Which didn't matter previously, because you only have one...

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Ah, so we are back in business! TWF style says 'when you make an extra attack as a result of using a weapon that has the Light property, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of that attack if you aren't already adding it'. It does NOT say 'when you attack with a Light weapon'...

Ah, misunderstood. Too much time spent on Reddit, where there's a no shortage of bad takes.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

They are both extra attacks gained as a result of using a weapon with the Light property. Dual-Wielder triggers as a result of using a weapon with the Light property, so it gets the TWF style bonus, even if you're using it to two-hand a Versatile weapon.

    D&D 5E (2024) Dual Wielding

Yep. They purposefully changed Two-Weapon Fighting style's text from the playtest (from 'when you make an extra attack granted by the Light property' to 'when you make an extra attack as a result of using a weapon that has the Light property'), which must be to cover Dual-Wielder... but that is...

Trailer KRAVEN - New Trailer (HD)

Ah, yet another continuation to Sony's 'Spiderman villain but we cannot say Spiderman' series of fai-- oh no Venom movies have actually been a huge success. Somehow I don't think that's in store for Kraven.
