    Statement on OGL from WotC

I doubt people will need much convincing to buy the new books. Most people won't even check the playtest. They will see a new logo and some rebranding and buy the books.

Can we frame this post and put it in the wall please?

WotC WotC needs an Elon Musk

Twitter can't survive 5 years like this. Musk put a lot of colateral up to buy twitter, he needs is to make money NOW. That's why he is trying all that to try and bring capital. That's why he made the whole twitter blue debacle.

WotC WotC needs an Elon Musk

Except Twitter does not have a giant like google to fund their monetizing effort. To actually do this Twitter would need a serious fundraising campaign, and with the state of the company right now, there are not a lot of investor that would want to do that without eating up the majority of...

D&D 5E (2014) Chronicles of Eberron Is Keith Baker's New D&D Book, out now!

what? they get credit for creating it because.... they created it. When they make an effort to curate it they will receive credit for curating it. Isn't that how receiving credit for doing something works?

D&D 5E (2014) Chronicles of Eberron Is Keith Baker's New D&D Book, out now!

One think that keeps Eberron healthy is that it's fans are really clear about what they want/don't want of the setting, and we are protective of keith and his ideas.

WotC WotC needs an Elon Musk

People need to change the "If I don't like it/If I'm not the target audience the company is failing" mentality

WotC WotC needs an Elon Musk

Nothing points to being long term goals to what Musk is doing on twitter. It's not just us saying that, it's the market, it's the sponsors, it's the tech industry. Your whole premise here is flawed and if I can be honest, a little gatekeepy. All that about "the casuals" is a really bad take. The...

WotC WotC needs an Elon Musk

.... and that is an Elon Musk type of guy? who overpaid more than 10 billion dollars for a non lucrative company, and then got to tank it's stock price even more?

    Statement on OGL from WotC

Yeah this. I'm all for WotC having third party designrs in mind and not turn their backs to them. But I really don't expect third party products to take priority in their decision making. If taking a long time would benefit their product I don't think they are obliged to change that because it...

What's All This About The OGL Going Away?

ah, okay, I misunderstood you, sorry. You are saying that without the OGL you can reference beholders. That might be true, but will open you to litigation depending on how you make that reference.

What's All This About The OGL Going Away?

Wait, but you can't use beholders either way... "Being pressured to accept the OG" doesn't let you use beholders.

    Statement on OGL from WotC

I don't know what people expect. One D&D got two playtest documents as of right now, it's waaaay to early to expect wizards to have a defined plan for an SRD.

Maybe there was some language barrier and I misunderstood him.

Actually there are two extra feats, on in first level and one "later". Without counting the background feat (either the fixed feat for the two BGs in the book, or the feat from the list for the standard background) 3 extra feats, yeah this campaign must be though.

D&D General How are locks so hard to open?

Does it though? I was talking about this specific part of the game not about realism always taking a backseat. Please don't generalize the coment. About why it's any different... well it's a major part of the rogues identity, as combat for the fighter for an example, so I think realism IN THIS...
