Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Cover, Synopsis Revealed

I agree, but it did lead to an adorable NPC in campaign 2 of Critical Role.

Scions of Elemental Evil Released on D&D Beyond

Oh well, there goes my theory right out the window. Or maybe not, since they say these might not be the final versions that appear in the MM.

D&D General Avalor - 5E Westmarch server 24 hours per day for RPers and Combat Enthusiasts alike!

Aimee Carrero does play D&D (and Candela Obscura) with the Critical Role crew from time to time.

Scions of Elemental Evil Released on D&D Beyond

Does the Stone Golem have the Damage Threshold mechanic/trait that some people have been speculating that Constructs might have?

D&D 5E (2024) List of multiclass concepts as single class characters

I wasn't referring to the Bard. I was referring to the Cleric/Wizard and Druid/Wizard entries with the * next to them.

D&D 5E (2024) List of multiclass concepts as single class characters

I’m not sure I understand how getting one extra cantrip from your own class spell list and a bonus to a couple skills makes you a pseudo Wizard. Is it because of the bonus to the Arcana skill?

D&D 5E (2024) Damage Threshold, the new "need a magic weapon"?

Am I the one thinking, if an Adult Red Dragon attempts a flyby attack against a city with 100 trained crossbow men locked and loaded, then that’s the dragon’s own poor decision making?

D&D 5E (2024) Damage Threshold, the new "need a magic weapon"?

I would not be surprised to see DT only on Constructs in the 2024 MM. Constructs are "creatures" but they're basically animated "objects." That might be the reason for that specific wording in the PHB.

D&D 5E (2024) Rules Clarification: Fighting Style Feats

Huh, I never really thought about this before. But, reading through the rules with a fine-tooth comb, I can't see any reason why it's not possible.

    D&D 5E (2024) Suggestions for level 1 one-shot.

Honestly, when I read the thread title "Suggestions for a level 1 One-Shot," I thought you were looking for advice on a one-shot to run, not advice on a character to play. Of the three options you listed, I like the idea of the Barbarian the best. But, then, I've always been a fan of that...

D&D 5E (2024) Programs or Games to visualize Bastions?

My daughter likes to build castles and houses in Minecraft.

    D&D 5E (2024) Thief Rogue / True Strike

This is the same as in the book. In the book, this part instead says: "if the spell consumes its Material components, they are consumed only when you complete the scroll. The scroll’s spell uses your spell save DC and spell attack bonus."

    D&D 5E (2024) Treantmonk's Ranger DPS video:

I feel like Hunter's Mark, and thus Ranger damage output, could be fixed with a simple change to the spell (my changes in RED): Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. Your Concentration and damage increase with a spell slot of level 3-4 (up to 8 hours, 2d6) or 5+ (up to 24 hours, 3d6).

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG Lore Glossary Preview

I like that idea a lot. Maybe we could get stat blocks for Oberon, Titania, and Queen Mab (along with everyone else mentioned in The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke).

    D&D 5E (2014) Xvart: Humanoid or Monstrosity?

I chose Humanoid because I consider a Monstrosity to be a mutated version of a Beast, which is not what a Xvart looks like to me.

D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Impressions and Surprises from real play Experiences

A funny thing about Tremorsense is that the Rules Glossary gives the full definition of it, while Dwarves only get the ability in regard to stone as part of their Stonecunning ability. I figured the full definition was included for a reason, so I looked through the Creature Stat Blocks in...

I would change the skills to Investigation and Stealth. Gardeners are adept at eavesdropping on conversations from outside open windows.

    D&D 5E (2024) Homebrew Backgrounds

In my Street Urchin homebrew background, I gave them a Gaming Set for Tool Proficiency. I can see them doing some three-card monte to scam people out of their money so they can buy something to eat.

The 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide is Chris Perkins' Last Book as Product Lead

If you guys are referring to Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft, Chris Perkins is not the Project Lead, Art Director, or listed as any of the Writers. His sole credit, as far as I can tell, is in the Rules Development section. I’m not sure if that qualifies as “being the instigator of the...
