    D&D 5E (2014) D&D and who it's aimed at

WoTC is trying to broaden the audience for D&D while at the same time keeping the old timers happy. Spelljammer, Ravenloft and Dragonlance are nostalgic attempts to please the old guard. Other releases are aimed at a newer audience. No doubt they have market research on the new audience they...

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Tasha's Broken?

No. Tasha's is power creep but that has happened in every edition since 2E (I only played 1E at the very end so cannot say). And this is baby power creep compared to what I saw from official WoTC supplements during my 3.X days. Even the twilight cleric is child's play next to the Cheater of...

D&D 5E (2014) What do you consider "good" ability scores?

After racial modifiers, I like to have a 16 (+3) or higher in my main attribute and two 14s (+2) in two other scores. The rest can be average. In fact, it can be fun to have an 8 in one attribute. But I don't like to have more than one 8. So I guess "ideal" starting stats would be 16+ 14...

D&D General Which (non 4e) edition of D&D had the best class balance?

Someone actually voted for 3.5? o_O Even as someone who liked 3.5, from a balance perspective it was a flat-out failure. Oh, for the days of CoDzilla, divine favor, divine power, righteous might, divine metamagic, natural spell, animal companions, etc.

    D&D 5E (2014) What Level(s) Are Your Character(s)?

My longstanding opinion is Tier 2 is the sweet spot of 5E. Most campaigns I played in ended around 10th level. I believe there is a reason they ran out of gas at that point.

The current results suggest Tier 2 is the core of the game. That is my favorite tier of play.
