I don't because neither my group or I am very good at even coming close to a balanced design. We either over load or underload them incomparision to other classes and/or monster. Simple things can make a character far to powerfull.

I did something similar once. It was roll 12d6, adding dice to 6 for each. I rolled all at once by simply droppings all 12 dice in front of one player and the DM. Came up all 6's. Of course over 20 years as a DM I must have rolled up by dice or computer, thousands of characters.
