Unearthed Arcana Into the Wild: New Unearthed Arcana Covers Wilderness Exploration

This is somewhat interesting, but in my Planescape campaign I'm adapting the 5E Middle Earth rules, and I'm infinitely more excited for it. I appreciate how they come up with a much more interesting understanding of how to make the failure of the DC do something other than "they don't reach the...

    Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated

So viewing this video, the answer is "yes" these are reprints, they are of a few of the sets, not just the "master set." But if you collected tiles around the time of the Master Set release, you will get mostly duplicates of your collection.

    Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated

CAN ANYONE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CLARIFY IF THEY ARE REPRINTS OF THE 4th EDITION DUNGEON TILES MASTER SET!!!!

The Actual Table of Contents for Xanathar's Guide to Everything

Clearly guys they needed to do the reprints! Can you imagine if the Mastermind had access to Racial Feats! Obviously only the Storm Sorcerer can, nay, MUST have racial feats!

    Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated

Any word if this is just a reprinting? I agree with Xaelvaen, I very rarely used them. They were more useful in 4E were as a DM a 4 hour session normally just was 2 fights, so designing them was nto too hard, but in 5E I have more freedom to do lots of quick fights.

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

One thing I just noticed is that these spells say "summon ____" rather than "conjure _____" any ideas what that is going to mean? Also re: Warlocks, they have one conjure spell on their spell list, and one as an invocation. Are we hoping these new spells will be on the spell lists or as...

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

Okay, so the question was, should the "Summon Demons" be on the Warlock list. 4E: Warlocks have Infernal Pact, Pact with a Devil and Wizards have Summon Demon Spells, but Warlocks don't (and this made sense for that edition's fluff) 5E: Warlocks have Fiend Pact, which can be with a Devil...

Yes, apologies I meant specifically the Infernal Pact was a pact with Devils, not Demons.

    D&D 5E (2014) Skill Challenge System PEACH

So I haven't gotten everything worked out just yet. However I'm thinking of a skill challenge system that is designed around the combat math. Basically after playing Numenara, I liked how all three pillars pull from the same pool of resources, and I was thinking if the most developed part of DnD...

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

Well in 4E Warlocks were explicitly devil bargainers, but they are not in 5E so I hope they keep them either or. I kind of hope they are in alternative "Expanded Spell Lists" for Fiend Warlocks, or Invocations for Fiend/Chain Locks. Although I know restricting Invocations based on Pacts was very...

UA: New Race Options, Eladrin and Gith

Thinking about the changing season fluff I suddenly wondred . . . as great as it is for the mercurial Eladrin PC, does it cause problems for the courts? Does a courtier of the Summer court have Winter moods? Or is a member of the Winter Court an Eladrin who is fixed in Winter? Does that take...

UA: New Race Options, Eladrin and Gith

Sure sure, but I would like it this way, because it would give Elves the possibility of using the versatility trait on the longsword, which would give them a little bump, without really overpowering anything. Just a +1 damage.

UA: New Race Options, Eladrin and Gith

The discussion of the High Elf NOT being an archetypal wizard because it gets only a +1 to Int seems silly. With the standard array, or the point buy you are still generally looking at a 16/16 Int and Dex, which means you are as capable as the most capable human + you have a little extra dodge...

UA: New Race Options, Eladrin and Gith

I think they should just commit to Eladrin being Charisma bumped. Storm and Wild Sorcerers fit their theme perfectly, while Feylock is tied to their fluff. With Bards being full casters, divided between Gishes and Extra Magicy secrets they have plenty of juicy full caster options. The Int bump...

    D&D 5E (2014) UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

Can anyone think of a somewhat balanced way we could make a standardized monster initiative? In the interest of speeding up the game, and helping out a DM who would be possibly handling multiple monsters? Possibility 1: Making some categories of monster such as: Very Fast: (Example: Quickling...

    D&D 5E (2014) UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

I saw that, but this would also allow a Rapier to be faster than a long sword, and a scimitar faster than a mace, so their might be some more verisimilitude. which is why I like it, but how does it effect balance in other ways?

    D&D 5E (2014) UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

how would this work using "light" "finesse" and "heavy" for weapon speed. 1d4 = light 1d6 = finesse 1d8 = weapon 1d10 = heavy how would that change things?
