D&D 5E (2014) Can you twin booming blade

First, there is no blanket restriction on casting more than one spell per turn. The rule that you are (apparently) thinking of is that if you cast a spell as a bonus action, then any other spell that you cast must be a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action. So the restriction only comes into...

D&D 5E (2014) Can you twin booming blade

So pretending for the moment that we don't know about that tweet that I just posted, because there's no point in wasting a good argument ;) ... So it seems to me the main point of disagreement here is not the reading of Booming Blade, but rather the reading of Twinned Spell. In addition to...

D&D 5E (2014) Can you twin booming blade

I'm not sure repeating this will have any additional effect, but (beyond it being able to be Twinned) the details of the spell just don't matter. Using Twinned Spell is just the same as casting the spell twice, so all the procedures and effects of the spell occur twice.

D&D 5E (2014) Can you twin booming blade

Yes. Normally, yes. But Twinned Spell changes how spells work, or at least that is one way to read it. The description of Twinned Spell says that you get to "target a second creature in range with the same spell." In my previous post, I asserted that the way to read this is that Twinned...

D&D 5E (2014) Can you twin booming blade

I don't think it would be an overly technical reading, it would just be a failure to apply Twinning consistently. All single-target spells use the "a creature" or "one creature" language. To me it seems the intent of Twinned Spell is accurately reflected by replacing those phrases by "two...

D&D General Toril must be a Super Earth.

I don't think it invalidates your point (and in addition it's nit-picky), but by usual definitions I don't think circumference enters into the relationship between rotation period and rotation speed - period (time per rotation) and speed (rotations per unit time) are just inverses of each other...

    Survivor Dragons: BLACK DRAGON WINS!

Apparently, I am in a narrative mood, but if you're short on time or attention - Actually, it's complicated. Having played only the true editions, 1* and 5*, skipping the apocryphal 2, 3, and 4, I had never heard of a Steel Dragon. Since there is no entry for 'Steel Dragon' on DnD Beyond...

    Survivor Dragons: BLACK DRAGON WINS!

Although Faerie Dragons and Pseudodragons are really bad at being dragons, they have a cute factor* going for them that I fear is going to make them hard to get rid of. * Which I, myself, am susceptible to.

D&D 5E (2014) Initiative System (player choice matters) playtest results

So I don't mean to deny your experience, but one factor that you haven't described is what the other characters in the groups were doing. As I noted earlier, with either system where you end up in the order is affected as much by the choices of the other participants as by your choices. So if...
