    D&D 4E Stalker0's Alternate 4e Fighter: The Warrior

Hmmm... Warrior's Insight is an opportunity attack, so you add Warrior’s Superiority +Wis to attack and damage... but Warrior's Insight already uses Wisdom to attack. Are you supposed to roll 1d20+Wis+Wis+1/2level to attack? I suppose Mustrum's version (Str+Wis) got it right (and more...

    Arcane Power- Wizards Stretched Thin

Those are my thoughts as well. Actually, I think Dominant Wind is just like the wizard's 2nd level utility, Jump, perhaps coupled with some Warlord power that let's your ally move in your place, only at-will and without the limits of the Athletics skill jumping rules...

Joke Names you've never used...but want to.

It was more of a limited imagination than a joke (and a bad one at that), but I had a player who insisted his wizard's name was Wizard. And he kept calling himself "wizard Wizard" or "Wizard, the wizard"...

    List of Random Encounters

This is great! Thanks for posting. :D I see you did 5 encounters per level (except for 6 at level 3 and 4 at level 8). I think I'll add another one, to make 6 encounters for all levels (to roll 1d6), and print 3 levels per page (easy, moderate and hard encounters). You can have an adventure...

    D&D CO-OP Game

Well, this has been a pet project of mine for quite a while. My goal is to have a CO-OP sandbox-like Heroic Tier game that plays like those old Arcade Capcom games, like King of Dragons and D&D Shadow over Mystara. I’ve also taken inspiration from newer games like Etrian Odissey, a couple of...

Fool's Grove: The Gnome's Back (With Friends)

Castlevania's Blood/Red Skeletons FTW :) And my mother was right all along: eating carrots does improve your eyesight! It says so in D&D: Among the root vegetables is an enormous golden carrot (DC 15 Perception to locate while searching). It acts as everlasting provisions (Player’s Handbook...

    "Playtest PH3 Dual Classing"

Actually, I think they did. I'm not sure about the where, when, who or why, but I remember seeing some designer in a thread around here talking about building a class like that. Perhaps it was in a discussion about a 4e implementation of that 3e class that could accomplish everything (I wanna...

    Arcane Power Excerpt: Cosmic Magic

Well, I love it. I wanted this astrologer type of spellcaster. I thought Star-pact was supposed to be this guy, but he's more like praying to the black between the stars than the stars themselves... Too bad the D&D cosmology doesn't use our own solar system - we could have a lot more phases...

    Shadowrun (D&D4E Conversion)

Never played Shadowrun, only heard about it, but I liked it. I loved the Rigger (beastmaster+wizard=win!) On a quick note though: isn't Close BURST 3 a little too much for the wizard/rigger static net at-will? I thought it meant Blast, but the power description says otherwise...

    Arcane Power Excerpt: Vestige Pact

Well, I think the descriptions for the starting vestiges are fine: short and focused. But the "daily vestiges" description were shorter and less educational, so I understand why people would be bothered, and I suppose it would be nice to know a bit more. But I'd like them to remain short. I...

    On the rarity of PCs

I was going to bring this up, but also say that I've played in Vampire campaigns that had over 30 vampires living in a small town (you NEEDto have more than one vampire for EVERY clan possible, right? ;)). And there were also werewolves, mages and even a couple of other creatures of the night...

    Arcane Power Excerpt: Rituals

I guess I understand Moridin... once we allow ANY ritual to be cast within combat boundaries (even pre-casting), future ritual design will suffer serious limitation, having to keep that option in mind. I think Moridin fears the possibilty that, in the future, there will be a ritual powerfull...

Quick Encounter Rooms... would you use this?

IMO, you should'nt use traps on these encounter areas. Taking from your exemple, it looks like a series of caves that I could use for an unintelligent creature's lair. Now, why would there be a blade trap in there? Of course, on another scenario, that place could be the entrance to a goblin lair...

    Boons, flaws and traits.

If I remember correctly, the Storytelling / New World of Darkness had an interesting system: you choose a Vice and a Virtue. Whenever you act according to those, you "feel good about yourself" and recover a Willpower point or something. I think the same could be done in D&D without much...

Quick Encounter Rooms... would you use this?

*looks around for spies* Are you going through my stuff? ;) I've been trying to come up with the right format to do just that! So, of course, make more so I can be lazy again... Seriously, my idea was making a couple of big cards (1/4 of A4) for sort of a random dungeon delve thing (well...

    Player's Handbook 2: I haz it

speaking of bard rituals, what are they like? I understand "music" is envolved, but why couldn't a wizard cast them? Is it just flavor, or is there some extra mechanic or something? Oh, and thanks for doing this :)

    D&D 4E 4E6: an E6 for fourth edition!

I have to agree with the E10 crowd. Here's my 1st draft: You advance normally until 10th level, and then, whenever you reach next level, you gain a new power, stat increase or feat (just like RAW), but you don't increase anything by 1/2 level and you don't get extra hp (or maybe go old school...

New guy, bad choices for character and personality

Since it's a Good aligned group, before any blood is spilled, you could have the other characters force him out from the party (this might have the added effect of showing how the players feel about him too). "I tried to warn you, 'friend', but you crossed the line again. Go home now and let us...
