    D&D eXPerience: My Experience

Nice! Reading through the various character sheets you can see a lot of different sub-systems for powers, like (if I'm not mistaken) the paladin's Lay on hands working 3 times per day (Cha mod?) being at-will (and not per day), and the per encounter cleric powers that feed on a "pool" (you can...

4th edition IS Shadow of MYSTARA!!

if you loved that, you'l love this: Someone (BonusJZ) is doing a whole new D&D game with the OpenBOR engine, using D&D:ToD & SoM, King of Dragons and Knights of the Round sprites... too bad it's not done yet :( videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfqdCqkRBIQ...

Things the rogue class said..and didn't say

I know this is getting offtopic, and maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way (and the designers probably mentioned this somewhere, but I'm forgetting), but I'm still not sold on the "every class has the same number of at will/per day/per encounter powers at level X". Maybe every class have...

    Constant Powers?

Not really, since at will powers still require you to spend a (move/minor/standart/full) action in a given round, while a familiar acts on its own. Though it goes against the "Power=Action, Feat=Static Bonus" design, I still think we can have powers with 'permanent' duration. If you still need...

    D&D 4E Is Intelligence 4e's dump stat?

That might work, but might also make Int too good. Perhaps there's a list of "Background Skills" like Knowledges, Craft, etc, available to every character and class at first level, and you start the game with one skill per Int modifier. Increasing Inteligence might add another skill, but not a...

New Confessions: The Down & Under Adventurer

When it comes to packing and outdoors, I'm a little bit like her too! :p About the armor class, I think she meant her (Shelly's) AC is so low, that even with armor (wind resistant jacket) she only improved it to -3. She only mentioned one magic item (the staff), the others were preety much...

    D&D 4E 4e With No Casters?

I don't think Mearls is saying "it's not possible", he's just foreseeing what will break and how to amend it. I guess the problem with light armored fighters is that a lot of their powers will rely on the Defender role (forcing enemies to focus on him, taking damage meant for allies, etc)...

    D&D 4E 4e With No Casters?

QFT :D I really love when the designers come and say "there, there, it's gonna be allright". :p Thanks Mearls! ;)

Where are we on the previews?

Maybe they decided to narrow the focus 'cause they've got a lot on their hands right now. Also, it seems as though some previews got folded into one article, like the elf/drow/eladrin, wich talked about history of the world, elves and eladrin, cosmology and the feywild. It's not just easier to...

D&D Minis update from Gamer Radio Zer0 #28

Hmm... ok, Evil and Mind Flayer, I get, but what's 'Mastermind' supposed to be? As far as I know, that's a monster role, but there's no 'brute' or 'skirmisher' on the Desert of Desolation creatures (though there are some with 'power sources' as a listed ability).

D&D Minis update from Gamer Radio Zer0 #28

Racial/role modifiers, I guess... The pit fiend had them as well, though a little higher on average (For 42:21+10+11 / Ref 38:20+10+8 / Will 40: 18+10+12), but he is epic anyway. And the distribution might actually make sense: the pit fiend is described as a soldier(leader), so he probably...

Newest Biggie Smalls report is up

I found myself wondering that as well. How can shelly cause so much distress when biggie seems to be doing pretty much the same thing? And even though I find her articles easier to read (go figure), I like both. :) And either way, "farmers scything wheat -- righteous, enraged, revenge-bent...

    D&D 4E Dungeons of Dread Preview 1 - 4e stuff!

yes, that's true in DDM. And it will work pretty well there too. I suppose the normal damage was omited to speed gameplay and better writing the statcard (and it's bound to be more tacticaly interesting), but it just reminded me of the speculation from the Pit Fiend article, who wields a mace...

    D&D 4E Dungeons of Dread Preview 1 - 4e stuff!

did you also notice that the sword does fire or cold damage, but not normal/slashing damage? What's up with that? Reminds me of the Pit Fiend and his mace, but this is DDM, so creatures immune to fire and cold are completely immune to the hellsword's sword...

Natural Healing: How long does it take to "heal" luck and skill?

half level + CON bonus + CHA bonus? :uhoh: I suppose we'll be seeing something different on this edition, anyway. Maybe it's related with Second Wind. How does SWSE handles natural healing?

DDM 2.0 stat cards are up!

Could be, but didn't they also say that Brass and Copper Dragon would be replaced by Iron and Adamantine ones? Edit: nevermind, it's Brass and Bronze that are out. Well, well, well, lookey here: Capricious Copper Dragon. Very interesting. It can make two attacks per turn, slow breath at will...
