    What is wrong with 4E?

Obviously it's a different system, and you get different things, but the post I was replying to was complaining about not getting "the full realm of options" and it's fairly obvious to me that you don't get the "full range of options" in 3.x unless you're playing gestalt.

    Tracking

Uhm, wot? Options are bad? Versitility is the "other side"? How is the capacity for other classes to get tracking a bad thing? Ranger is the only class to have the two appropriate tracking skills as class skills, and have the appropriate ability score as a "key" ability. This means it's very...

NPC merchants have a damn good union!

AS has been pointed out a thousand times before, 25% is what you would expect for, say, a 200 year old desk, or a MiG. Things with low supply AND low demand are hard to sell and hard to buy. Merchants have to stockpile and transport items are selling the fact that they can get you the actual...

Warforged - new benchmark for racial stats/abilities

Orcs and Minotaurs also get +2 str & con, it's actually considered underpowered because it only gives you a bonus to your fort save, that's why Warforged get +1 to their will save. Bugbears get +2 str & dex, kobolds and gnolls get +2 dex & con, Tieflings, Gnomes and Changelings get +2 chr & int...

    Warforged 4th edition problems

Drow and other FR races will be fleshed out fully in a couple of months, either in the FR players book, or in DDI as part of some sort of FR "push", Eberron races are getting fleshed out now so that people who want to play in Eberron fon't have to wait 18 months for good racial stats.

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

Technically the terms are "primary" and "secondary" skills, but otherwise, yes.

D&D 4E Showing the Math: Proving that 4e’s Skill Challenge system is broken (math heavy)

According to RAW, trying a non-standard skill increases the DC to hard, making it unlikely to be worth it.

What are the traps in char design to beware of?

Yes, in this unlikely situation it would be better. On the other hand, in this situation you're in absolutely no danger, so it's not a big deal, is it? Would I take it as my third ability as a Human S&B Fighter? Sure. But that's more an indictment of the lack of useful at-will for several...

    Is Eldarin the new Rouge?

I thought Justicar was the new Rouge?

    What is wrong with 4E?

Except of course, you never got that. A decent level Fighter who multiclasses into Wizard will never get meteor, a decent level Rogue who mutliclasses in Barbarian will never get Tireless rage. Multiclassing has allways been "give up some of my abilities for a selection of the other class's...

"Evade the Blow" do you avoid the attacker's hit?

You besides making your attack of opportunity a disarm? Okay, yes, that's not going to come up that much, but it was certainly possible.

What are the traps in char design to beware of?

Or more specifically, check feat requirements when choosing your stats, as stats are one of the few things you can't retrain, and you don't want to find out you have no interesting feats to take.

    Arcane spell failure..

For leather? No. For the others? Besides the fact that the feats after leather have strength and con requirements which most Wizards wont meet? No.

add 1/2 level to ability checks? What? Why?

Since he was originally a character in an actual (1e?) game, it's likely his stats were rolled, yes.

    So.... Fighter's boundless Endurance

Not necessarily, there are enough other bonuses or penalties which only apply while bloodied, the "non-fiddly" part comes in because in 4e your bloodied number is actually written on your sheet, so at any point (in this case, the start of your turn) you just compare the two numbers.

D&D 4E 4e -- Is The World Made Of Cheese?

Sure, I agree, the core rules should cover basic adventuring, and leave the rest for splats, however if the destruction of other people's personal property isn't part of adventuring I don't know what is. The problem is, if that was meant to be implyed, then why are there hp there at all? A set...

D&D 4E 4e -- Is The World Made Of Cheese?

I realize this is old, but you do realize there's an entire D&D genre named after destroying barriers? And it's a common enough style that good rules for what happens when you "Kick in the door" will come in useful.

    Attributes and Builds

The amount bonii you get from charisma isn't actually that high, and you can raise two stats from you level increases. So long as you have one attack stat at 18, and one at 16 you should be fine.
