New podcast from wizards , i dont understand OA's.

It was a mistake, don't worry about it.

D&D 4E 4e fixed the math, so what's with the +6 skill items?

Except those aren't the people who will take the items, the ones with training and feats will. Which doesn't make any sense, because they aren't avauilable at low levels.

    Feat Types

Lets list them shall we? Here's the ones I can find. 3.x 15 (mostly useless) +2 to two skill feats. skill focus. 8 magic item creation feats 9 metamagic feats (which apparently counts for four and a half, which may or may not be correct since about half of them are purely combat based.) Track...

Epic Destinies... Really? That's all of 'em?

They're there, in the Class section right after Wizard.

    Basic Ranged Attack

Things like Suprise Attack allow characters to use "a basic attack" yes. As far as I know this is the only time the MMs "is a ranged basic attack" make any difference.

    Basic Ranged Attack

He's wrong. The book clearly states that only melee basic attacks can be used for OAs on page 290. He also completely forgets the Fighter's Combat Challenge ability. I found this very confusing.

D&D 4E An in depth rules discussion on the mechanical problems and breakthroughs of 4e

I personally quite enjoyed my first level Sorcorer too, since I made sure to choose spells which had the capacity to completely change the outcome of fights with one round of casting, but I've seen other people be completely frustrated/bored by even mid level Wizards when the campaign...

    Blinding Barrage Question

The best I can find is p217 under "Load" in regards to loading time, which says that ranged powers which hit multiple targets allow for the loading time within the power description. This could technically merely be refering to attacks with secondary or tertiary attacks, so it's not conclusive...

D&D 4E An in depth rules discussion on the mechanical problems and breakthroughs of 4e

No. the math is supposed to be the same, you're supposed to hit about half the time and kill a "normal" level equivelent creature in the the same amount of hits, but the actual abilities characters and monsters have is supposed to be different.

    Tactical presence + area attack?

The attack rolls are yes, the damage isn't.

D&D 4E Which 4e races do you like mechanically

Probably because Nice Guys Finish Last.

    They're standard monsters.

KotS session 1 questions and comments

I'm I'm not sure if that can actually happen. I assume you mean somebody moved past a monster who was in melee with the Fighter? The fighter gets an immediate interupt attack, not an OA, but in either case, the attack interrupts the original action, so the Fighter goes first. See, that's...

D&D 4E An in depth rules discussion on the mechanical problems and breakthroughs of 4e

Except of course by the rules the Fighter can do that, there are no rules in the game for weapons taking damage, or for getting tired when hitting something, but most DMs I've played under will say "you can't do that anymore" after a while, and there's no reason not to apply that to casters...

    Cleric With A Wisdom of 8 . . .

There's nothing stopping it, no. I find the healers lore thing to be hilarious though.

    More feats, fewer choices

Exactly. The other thread is complaining about the fact that you have to read the feat list and chose your stats from that as oposed to just take whatever stats feel appropriate, thus punishing people who don't min-max their stats. It's actually very annoying.

    Worst Race?

Man, I wrote that ages ago :). I didn't mean that pact blades in particular were hard to get, but that they were essentially unique in their state of "easy to get weapon & implement combo". Holy Avengers are absurdly high level and and Clerics need a feat to use them. At the time I didn't...

I approve. I also steal these.

    Astral Fire (and other feats)

You get your con stat to hp at first level. Dragon Breath is a "Dragonborn Racial Power". So yes, it works.

    D&D 4E 4e, Non-Martial Characters, and Limited Feat Choices

I realized there was a problem, but not that it was quite that bad. A large part of the problem seems to be the restrictive feat prereques. Feats like Armour prof(scale) or Astral Fire having prereques of 13 doesn't seem to high untill you actually start making characters, or worse, just give...
