    Implement ambiguities

This. The pact blade "functions as an implement" meaning you're not using it as a weapon, meaning things like weapon damage, range, keywords, or weapon types (such as "light blade") have no effect.

D&D 4E 4e Ranger: New God of Damage? Armor Splinter + Blade Cascade + High Wisdom Ranger

As has been pointed out, a hard cap makes it fine. There's no need to get all "the system is inherently broken" on us.

    Is Forced Movement Inherently Breakable?

It's the generic "highest possible stat" in 4e, 18 + 2 racial + 8 from levels + 2 from Demigod. Honestly, it's very specific and most actual characters wont get it, especially for secondary stats, but it's a nice round "if I really wanted to milk this" number.

    Cleave and Power attack

a 21st level character (20 str) using a greatsword, cleave & power attack does 2d10 +14(5 str, 9 PA), and the cleave does 5 damage. "Any roll of the dice" means whenever you roll dice not every die you roll. It's not confusing unless you want it to be.

    Messed up fighter power questions

I believe the WotC explaination of a similar Warlord Power was that the bonus applies to any ally who is currently in the burst.

Once per encounter powers outside of combat?

I really, really concur. In fact I'm going to burn from my mind that this was ever mentioned.

    Half-Elf vagueness -Dilettante Abuse?

The problem with lay on hands is not only does it take one of the Paladin's two major class features, the "once per encounter" limitation, well, isn't. Most Paladins are only going to be using it once per encounter anyway, so it's just as good as the Paladin's version, which isn't the intent of...

    Worst Race?

Perhaps. That's how the DragonBorn breath weapon works. On the other hand, in general, it would be nice if things like pact daggers and Holy Avengers were easier to get.

    Why Mearls is awesome

I was also amused by this.

    Feynger-Multiclass concept

Except I don't believe the character has the prereques. The only way to swap out at-wills (AFAIK) is to multiclass instead of PPing, which this character hasn't done.

The Final Preview - Alignment (Is this really the first thread?)

Actually I'm having trouble, but it is awesome.

Katar-- Cool weapon to throw in the recycling bin?

Katars are for Rogues, Warlords or Clerics* who multiclass into Ranger. Yes, that's incredibly specific, what's your point? *Classes chosen arbitrarily, may cause suboptimal choices, overidentification and "simulationism", Multiclassing is not for everyone. Consult your local charOp board...

The Final Preview - Alignment (Is this really the first thread?)

Ultimately, the important thing is removing all of the actual rules related to it, since it means people can write down "autobot", "sith" or "anarcho-capitalist" as their alignment, and as either GM or fellow player, I don't have to care.

Does anyone actually need the DMG?

Templates. Monster creation rules. NPC creation rules. Explanation of expected treasure handouts. Traps. Skill Challenges. Damage & DC guidlines for stunts. Probably more.

D&D 4E What is your favorite part of 4e?

I though for ages it was going to be martial powers or the toning down of prepared casters, but it's actually rituals. I really like how they work.

    Tensers Floating Duckblind

As cool as that would be, unfortunately it has a weight limit.

    Polymorph - Gone?!?

The "change self" monster ability is still in (you can even get it as a PC if you play a changeling), and Wizards still get disguise self. It's the openended buff uses of shapechanging abilities which have were the problem in 3.x, not the disguise uses.

    Core Handbook Errors Discussion

In a similar, but less important version, the War Wizard build mentions taking powers which "make the best use of your dexterity score". AFAICT there aren't any Wizard powers which use dexterity.

    Initial multi-class feat imbalances.

They seem to break the "cannot make a bad choce" rule yes, it is possible to screw yourself over. On the other hand, stuff like a Fighter getting good healing or buff powers, or a Warlod getting good ranged attacks isn't something to sneeze at. Most of the time the feats will be "meh", but when...

Build me a katana + trenchcoat guy

Remember that most classes which don't have heavy armour prof will have dex or int as a primary stat, since there's no max dex, their AC will go up as they increase the appropraite stat. It's only Warlocks and possibly melee rangers who's ACs' might fall behind.
