    The 1-square charge

Well, again, I didn't add any verbage to the "rule" That said, it's not that big of a deal, I am sure you have tons of fun at your table, and I wish nothing but more of the same for you!

    Actually, our opinion does matter.

I totally hear ya I have no idea what sold where and for how many to when. it could very well be true that 4e has underperformed, and undersold 3e, howtheheck would I know?
  3. TheUltramark

    The 1-square charge

I disagree with your interpretation of the rule completely. it clearly says NO OTHER ACTION MAY BE TAKEN - not after you charge you are done...no other actions! no move action other than the "6" you get.

Trying to work around a DM's restriction

I just reread you original question couldn't you acquire an item, or choose a power that deals radiant damage...just one...not your whole character, not who you are, but just an "undead tool" just part of the kit. Like "what poisons undead? - radiant energy!" when in rome, make lemonade

    The 1-square charge

you gotta be kidding right? did you not read your little rule you quoted? 1 - move 2 - attack and yet you say no move required ??????? -or- better still, a standard action that not only requires movement, but also prohibits further moving....

    The 1-square charge

so basically, now, we are asking "how can I move if I don't have a move action?" is this similar to "how can I attack if I don't have a standard?"

What is the #1 most important thing to remember about DMing?

I guess if I were to give a serious answer: plan for EVERYTHING - and know going into it, the players won't do ANYTHING you planned. -or- you aren't writing a choose your own adventure book, role play your adventure as if it were just another character in the story

Holy Implement Expertise - can't grant combat advantage?

I feel so stupid...to have been playing D&D for as long as I have and have ZERO clue what you guys are talking about is somewhat shameful on my part. What is RAI and RAW ?????? my two cents is the cleric IS stunned after attacking a bloodied target, and being stunned DOES grant CA

Something, I think, Every GM/DM Should Read

ok, this just in: I asked the 7 people I play with "can you knock a snake prone" my rules lawyer said "sure" 1 other agreed with him- and 4 of them said "no - already on the ground" the best dm of the lot of us said "depends when in the fight it is. In the first round, if the players have all...

Feat Taxes, or, It's That Time of the Week Again

I soooooooo don't wanna piss anyone off, but..... Aulirophile = w/out expertise, but with all the bells and whistles that come with being 30th level, how often do you see characters hitting a 30th level elite not what the math says...actual on table experience. Is it really only 25% of the...

That Thing You Won't Ever Do

so you arent into LARP or any of that SCA business????
  15. TheUltramark

    The 1-square charge

this is a lame politically correct answer, but....it really depends on the situation. did you move your entire speed and come up one short? if so, then yeah, you came up short. Were you knocked prone (by a zombie rotter perhaps) and spent your move to get up? if so you are short. That...

Something, I think, Every GM/DM Should Read

take the specifics out of it, don't focus on the undead vs poison (or the hydra vs prone) - your weapon of choice is "type B" damage. Your character comes across a monster you have never fought before, never seen before, or for that matter never heard of. You are going to use your weapon and...

    Actually, our opinion does matter.

Warning: the following post contains a ginormous generalization, and a completely fictitious scenario If Your Corp. designed, manufactured, and sold revethaw's, and you only made and sold red ones, and every year you moved about 100,000 units. You decide to switch up, plenty of customer...

Something, I think, Every GM/DM Should Read

interesting point...using that thought process isn't it "obvious" that something slithering on the ground can't be knocked prone?
  19. TheUltramark

Feat Taxes, or, It's That Time of the Week Again

my philosophy in the past (earlier ed's) has been that when the players start hitting more frequently, find a way for the bad guys to hit more frequently. All in an effort to continue the same threat of death, that at our table keeps things interesting

Feat Taxes, or, It's That Time of the Week Again

so here is a question how do you "fix it" It hasn't come up at my table yet, but my first thoughts are to suggest a home rule that expertise isn't available until you are an expert - say level 11 ??? -or- add expertise to all soldiers, brutes, lurkers and leaders???? these aren't even in the...
