Umbrella Academy - Not bad, not great

5 says the apocalypse is coming. And nothing else for a while. A no one and him what is up after je was gone for years. Forget lazy writing. This is bad writing.

Umbrella Academy - Not bad, not great

A show where everyone makes bad decisions all the time is good TV for you? Low standards, man.

Umbrella Academy - Not bad, not great

The melodrama between the character is pretty stereotypical for TV. A lot of the plot exist because characters do not share info or make stupid choices. It points to lazy writing. The universe seems rich, but underused.

Big Changes in ICv2's RPG Industry Charts, as Pathfinder Drops Off Before 2E's Release!

They can't change too much. PF pas build on its backward compatibility with 3.5. Straying too far away from PF might turn off the base.

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Reprints of old adventures? Again? Such little effort is put into these things nowadays. No worries, streaming inflate sales. You can print anything and I'll sale anyway. Sigh.

What are you Reading? Froody February 2019 edition

I'm at 62% of Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Harari. It started out great, even if the premise* of Harari is a hypothesis that is not backed by science, but then it moves away from history, anthropology or even philosophy. It mostly becomes Harari's opinions and some anecdotes. I...

What are you Reading? Jaunty January 2019 edition

Trilogies and sequels turn me off. By principale I try to stick to just the first tomes of series. Trilogies and sequels are too much a cash grab nowadays. Stories do not need to be stretched that much (with exceptions). Often the best part is there in the first tome anyway, and I'm not...

What are you Reading? Jaunty January 2019 edition

So far I've read The Stars are Legion, by Kameron Huxley. It is a great premise (women only societies in space who birth their tools), but it was a major let down. The author didn't know where to go with the plot and didn't do much world building. After that I read Nexus by Ramez Naam. Cool...

Hobby Games: It Was a Very Good Year

It means the quality of D&D books is objectively bad and WotC doesn't have to increase the quality of its products cause they sell anyway. It is like Transformers movies. Thank the people who are mystified by streaming for that. Hopefully, the blunder of e-sports will drive sells down and...

Hobby Games: It Was a Very Good Year

This growth is terrible. It means WotC has no incentive to increase the quality of D&D supplements. What a waste.

Pathfinder Adventure Path #138: Rise of New Thassilon Arriving in Late January 2019

Is that the Oliphaunt of Janderlay I see in the background? That would mean the PC time travel to the time empire of Thassilon fought Azlant.

Review Dragon Heist, Mad Mage, and Ravnica!

I agree. Ravnica's campaign guide is objectivaly bad for a campaign setting, but you know D&D is good. It reminds me of how people defended the quality fo 4e products and we all know how that ended.
