It doesn't matter WHAT happened, it rarely does. And yeah, it sucks but it's publicity. When bad stuff happens like this and other similar stuff has happened that's what people jump to, whether or not it's the truth. You have to manage this stuff because crap like this spreads like wildfire and...
Speculation gained from pretty much every RPG site on the net, at least that's how I see it. Its much more well recieved than 4e ever was at launch (and i love 4e). It's not really hard to make that jump. Maybe it did bomb but it doesn't seem like it has.
New edition, new players. At least I hope it still surprises people, that means there are new people and our hobby is growing. As for surprising the older people? It doesn't, it just adds onto the mountain of disappointment and reputation that fans of wizards has laying off people of an already...
Whatever the reason, it certainly doesn't LOOK good to fans. It gives the impression that the game isn't doing well (whether it is or not). Wizards PR on this kind of stuff is terrible, hopefully we will hear something. I mean... it doesn't really make sense to think "WOOOO 5e is selling GREAT...
Wasn't the D&D team like ... 7 people or something? These people should have been promoted or given raises not laid off. I mean... people at wizards DO know they have to actually have people working on stuff for it to get done right? Mearls can't do it all himself.
You guys aren't thinking about the big picture of the "Which is more or less powerful". If you look at it singularly, then I agree it doesn't make any sense. But if you look at 100,000 of these you get a very nice picture of where the classes sit compared to one another in the perception of the...
So what is this survey supposed to do exactly? As in.... how will it be implemented? Am I going to have to rebuy the 3 core books with updated information or am I going to have to download the errata that changes the game on a fundamental level like 4e?
I've entered this thread way to late but still wanted to throw in my 2 cents. Something recently happened that addressed this same question. There is some mobile game coming out that is supposedly the "pokemon" mmo we have all dreamed about. Besides the fact that it's on mobile there's one HUGE...
I agree with all your points which is a shame really. I'm still a bit surprised nevertheless because our community has a way of developing a very strong following for niche games. I suppose here on enworld most people are a bit bias towards D&D which is to be expected. Your point about the games...
As much as everyone loves planescape and dimension hopping I'm surprised the strange doesn't get more time here. It's literally every possible setting you could ever want. I got my copy in about 2 weeks ago and I'm in love with it. I am a big Numenera fan, but the strange just completely takes...
I use spell points, speed factor and initiative score as well as the advance combat stuff like facing options. The game feels almost like a perfect translation of Final Fantasy Tactics. Love it.
They are all compatible. Infact theres a 3 dollar document they sell that talks about running the games together which I believe marries the settings. Mechanically? There is little to no difference.
You know, I'm absolutely intrigued by this product but I was instantly turned off by the music. I was expecting some nice bagpipes and celtic-y (s?) music. Just something to maybe think about.
