It's also worth pointing out that the d20 STL specifically requires that a portion of the published material be Open Content. I wouldn't be surprised if that made it into the GSL in some fashion.

The only way to end that division is for one edition to not exist. So, no way to do it. :) And, to be perfectly honest, I'm not upset, I'm not angry. I'm quite calm. I'm also quite disappointed if this is as it appears - but I reserve final judgment until I see the GSL in its final form.

The fact that Necro still plans to release their 3.5 books in 4E leads me to believe it may just be that you can't release the same thing with both licenses. Obviously, any release would have to conform to the terms of each license, which are different, so it couldn't be the exact same product...
