    New exotic weapon: The Quad-bow

Asmor, I know that crossbow has nothing to do with YOUR weapon idea, but the game mechanics appear to be what you're looking for. Does it actually help you at all? Also, I'd like to shamelessly plug the "Elymasti" thread. It needs more traffic, as I haven't gotten a single response yet...

    Wildshaping/Shapeshifting Animal companion

Oooo, this is a cool idea. I'm not sure that you grasp just how powerful it is, but it definitely is NEAT. There would need to be significant drawbacks to having a shapeshifting animal companion. I'd say that you'd have to trade spontaneous summoning and perhaps take a hit on your wildshapes...

    Acid Variant of Burning Hands

Hey, the Material plane doesn't pretend to be the same universe WE live it, but it has its rules, and I'm just going by how they describe the rules. *shrug*

    Acid Variant of Burning Hands

I hate to sound grumpy, Hawken, but you make no sense. Yes, applicability to the creatures encountered does increase overall potency. Conversely, you come come up with a death effect, but if it only affects creatures with eighteen heads born in the month of March, then it's useless and...

1001 Uses for an Immovable Rod

You could say "relative to the gravitational center of the locally most influential gravity well." If you get flung into a plane with no real reference points and no obvious gravity, suddenly you become the reference until something more massive than you comes along to drag away your Immovable...

    Feat prereqs for PrCs

Seconded. If the PrC should be level-based, then its prerequisites should include something level-dependent like BAB, or skill ranks (even better). Only rarely are the feat prerequisites for a PrC so high (like Whirlwind Attack) that a human fighter couldn't achieve them by 2nd or 4th level...

    My reduced skills system

To be fair, that's assuming that multiclassing is very easy to do, which is a problem with the multiclassing system, not the skills. Besides, all of the skills you will need to fulfill the role of a given class should already be class skill for it; multitasking for skills is a bit of backward...

High Dex score and maneuverability class

I would just do this on a per-creature basis. The D&D rules for flight are already a bit heavy-handed. Non-mechanical flight should be fluid and organic, which makes it VERY hard to write rules for it; mostly just off-the-cuff estimations are the best bet.

    D&D 3.x 'Advanced' 3.5 D&D

If you can arrange a campaign in this style, are willing to meet twice a week, and play within 15 miles of Bethlehem, PA... I'm in. I'm most emphatically "in". It would have to meet pretty frequently if you wanted to advance in rank in any decent realtime span, because that's ALOT of...

    Elymasti (reworked)

Are people just not seeing that the "spoiler" box contains everything in the Word document? Or if there's just too much reading, well then I'd like to point out that there is a section under all of the flavor paragraphs titled "Racial Traits", and under that there's alot of mechanical addenda...

    New exotic weapon: The Quad-bow

A couple years ago I used AutoCAD to draft a design for an 8-shot crossbow. It may be about what you're looking for, so long as you're ok with a gnomesque level of mechanical sophistication. It uses a block-and-tackle system on the single (very strong) composite metal/wood laminate cross-piece...

    Could someone(s) assist me...

It's insane. The whole point of the mask in Prince of Persia was to take a not-too-far-above-average person and turn him into a superbeing. In D&D, you start with essentially a superbeing, who doesn't need a mask, and then you match him up with other very powerful beings united in a common...

    Yet Another Non-Vancian Spellcasting System

How many spells can a caster prepare? Perhaps the same as his normal spell slots? This seems like a very ungainly system to be tacking on top of another, existing system, since it's not actually replacing anything. One fun way to lift restrictions could be to make each spell cost its spell...

    Frukathka's Feats

Unfortunately, not all spells should be mass spells. The trick is effectively limiting which spells can be meta'd, which you've tried to do based on ranges. Most proposed metamagic feats have this problem, because as the books with new spells in them multiply, new spells may not be compatible...

    Elymasti (reworked)

No comments? This is my very first time coming up with a paragon class, and I applied it to a race previously described to me as overpowered, along with heavy mods to the race, in order to balance things out for the everage campaign. Surely something went awry in the conversion. I'd...

    Elymasti (reworked)

Ok, I would necro my old thread in which I first posted this race, but it's buried in the archives by now (thread #556 last I checked, 9/19, 09:30 GMT). I've been on a racial paragon kick recently, and got the idea to make one for my old race the Elymasti, to address the issue that most people...

Can I use Dimension Door to get out of a grapple

If you're in the business of grappling casters on a regular basis, you should have the Mage Slayer feat. No more Dimension Door for the unfortunate caster, unless his/her Concentration check is phenominal :]

    Bind Weapon: Please Critique

Why would an artificially magnetized item head toward the earth? If you absolutely MUST assign a physical property to magic (which I advise against, because people like me will argue with you all day), then for this spell I'd stick with gravity. The force acting on the object is almost...

Help me convince my players to wear heavy armor.

Actually, it comes VERY easily. Just drop some gp on some bracers and such. Voila! Now you have the options and class abilities open to doing all sorts of interesting things, including spell-casting.
