No, and inf act the inverse, because MSG fools you into thinking a food's flavor is better than it really is. The Fighter levels often actually DO improve whatever you inject them into (maybe 4 levels' worth), but the flavor is, by itself, nearly absent.

I think that burst weapons are preferred for characters hedging their bets on critical rolls. Tempests with keen scimitars, rangers with wands of Hunter's Mercy, that sort of thing. Of course, it's always easier to tack on a +1 enhancement when you can afford it than to save up for a while...
