    [Eberron] Best Sourcebook?

Honestly, nothing is required, outside of the Eberron Campaign Setting. However, the original poster asked about best (and worst). IMO, best is Sharn, City of Towers (not necessarily favorite, but best). Worst is Magic of Eberron. Other categories: Most used: Player's Guide to Eberron...

Eberron Campaign Guide Excerpt: Aundair Lore & Introduction

I saw this about a week ago (someone stumbled upon the PDF download early). The map is great. I love it.

    Played a Free RPG?

A number of Free RPG lists show the d20 system as free since the SRD is free and pretty much has what you need to run the game. If so, yes. Otherwise, no. None have really caught my interest.

If you can find a group that plays a pre-3.0 version of D&D or Retroclone would you:

I would consider a game or two with the right GM of an older edition. I wouldn't consider a "retro-clone." I have learned so many systems in my gaming time (around 40 last time I counted), I have a low tolerance for learning a new system (even one trying to be an old system). It would have to...

    OotS #6662 is up

Hmmmm...#662. I wonder if we'll see a special theme in 4 more comics.

DDM - where are they made?

I think it might have just been books, as mentioned above. It also might have been the cards as well. I am pretty sure WizKids had their cards done in the US (and they were plastic cards ala credit cards).

    Surreal RPGs

I don't know if it qualifies as surreal, because I never played it. I was at the Origins where it debuted and I remember that a number of people who played this game described it as surreal. The RPG was Sandman. The concept of the RPG pretty much required you play published adventures. The...

Can anyone recommend any good 4e or non-old school blogs?

Robin Laws has a lot of good stuff, link the linked article on the damage of monsters with funky powers. His blog does cover a lot of territory. Also, he definitely has a strong narrative bias to his groups tendencies (not a bad thing, and probably to be expected). I have gotten a lot of good...

    [Eberron] Best Sourcebook?

I agree with this. If you know that Sharn and Xen'drik won't be pivotal in your campaign then they are low on the list of books. However, if you don't know where you are setting your campaign, I think Sharn is still high on the list of books you should get (Xen'drik less so). You will use it...

    [Eberron] Best Sourcebook?

While it's true that Eberron can easily have campaigns that don't touch Sharn or Xen'drik, I think they will be the exception not the rule. Sharn is sort of the center of the Eberron adventuring universe. Xen'drik is almost as likely to be used in a campaign. Sarlona, yeah. You'll either set...

    [Eberron] Best Sourcebook?

Nonsense. It has the same color coveras the "Races of..." series, but other than that it is full of Eberron history and lore. I will admit, the quality is middle of the pack (I put Magic of Eberron at the bottom). Secrets of Sarlona and Dragons of Eberron are excellent, but somewhat limited...

    Local Game Store Tour

Never been there. Mostly because the last time I was in Towson (besides passing by on 95) was when Origins was there.

What would you like to see 3rd parties produce for 4E?

All I have been able to find is his 4E "classic" project. While I would be interested to see what he comes up with, this is low on the list of what I want from Necromancer. I want more quality adventures and I want Tome of Horrors 4E!!

    Hackmaster

Because it's only the Basic version and they wanted to save the detail (such as all the dice cleansing rituals) for the Advanced version?

What would you like to see 3rd parties produce for 4E?

Sorry, what I was trying to do was point out some stuff I would like to see which was a variation on yours. Then I realized it would be a great magazine, or something similar (a magazine with maps and tiles in each issue...I wonder how it could function). I edited it for better focus (which...

What would you like to see 3rd parties produce for 4E?

I think I can safely say no 3rd party will publish a licensed setting under the GSL. Licenses are expensive, and tying it to a system that can get yanked away from you by another company with little notice isn't something any company will risk.

What would you like to see 3rd parties produce for 4E?

Interesting ideas. However, I find the "little stuff" is often too niche for me. For example, Adamant Entertainment's series of warlock pacts seems like I might see one I might buy but 8-10 become a blur I ignore. I would like this as a largish product. Put in a few dungeon tile (say a box set...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Adventure Path: How Successful?

I can see how this impression gets around though. I read several of the blogs of some of the more visible Paizo staff. I have seen numerous posts devoted to negative comments about different bits of 4E. I have never seen a post praising any bit of 4E (I don't read their forums, largely due to...

What would you like to see 3rd parties produce for 4E?

Edit: I was hoping I wouldn't have to say this. If you aren't interested in 4E, please don't post how you want something that isn't for 4E. Start a thread about what 4e products could do to make them interesting for you, if you need to. Please. I was scanning through the 4E products on...

    Local Game Store Tour

Wow, I didn't know South Jersey had any significant gaming stores. I have done the tour of game stores in the nearby areas of surrounding states (PA & MD...as I said, I didn't know of any in South Jersey). I knew a number of gamers from the Pennsville, Carney's Point area and they always had...
